When the sunshine is not enough
To make me feel bright
It’s got me suffering in the darkness
That’s so easy come by on the road-side
Of one long life-time
It’s got me deep blue
You know I’m deep blue
When you stand there, watch tired bodies
Full of sickness and pain
To show you just how helpless you really are
When you get down to the truth
It hurts me
It’s got me deep blue
You know I’m deep blue
When I think of the life I’m living
Pray God help me; give me your light
So I can love you and understand
This repetition that keeps me here
Feeling deep blue
It’s got me deep blue
You know I’m deep blue

Didn’t think there would be another 10cc fan here. Counting singles only, my favourites are ‘I’m Mandy Fly Me’ and ‘Dreadlock Holiday’.
Oh I’m not a fan, it’s just that my dad used to listen to them and some of their songs just stuck
Anyway, right now I’m listening to Johnny Marr-Easy Money
Awesome song, had never heard him sing before either.

I serendipitously discovered a pop star from Africa (specifically the Congo; died 2012), whom I had never known existed until yesterday, Ndombe Opetum. I got home late, fired up the laptop, and went to YouTube and just spontaneously typed in what seemed to me a nonsense word, just to see what would come up. I typed in “antale” and hit return, and up come all these African pop results. I have no idea where my mind came up with the word “antale”…!

ATMP with all 4…most of you have probably heard this but did you listen to Ringo? He freaking rocks!

^ Ringo did well as always, but you can tell that Paul and John really weren’t “feeling” that song, with their unenthusiastic (and not even totally in-key) backing vocals.
Honestly, I’m glad George held that one till the ATMP album.
I’m listening to You Know What To Do. It REALLY should have been on AHDN ! Then George actually would have had two songs on it, there would be symmetry, and a very nice song would be added in there somewhere (preferably not at the end, though, probably after You Can’t Do That or something.) It’s one of my favorite previously unreleased tracks on Anthology 1 (sadly I don’t have the others, really need to get them.) This is my fourth time listening to it in a row.
If you're lonely (or not!), you can talk to me. .....Hey! Are you a new member on this fine forum and don't know where to go to introduce yourself?
Well, you can do it here! Dig it?

U2’s new album, Songs of Innocence, since Apple’s giving it away for a limited time.

Wow – thanks for the heads-up; I’ve been waiting for this for what seems like forever (5 years, might as well have been forever). Crazy that it is now free – I guess they are just advertising their next tour? It sounds okay from the snippets I have listened to just now while burning the CD and the reviews around the net are pretty good.
I guess it’s one way to not have to worry about the weight of expectations that 5 year wait built up.
I saw them in Sydney with the whole family a few years back and we all had a great time.

The great way with free music is that if it sucks you dont lose anything aside from the time listening to it. If it wasnt free i wouldnt give two seconds to U2’s latest work.
Indeed – and it might get them a few new fans – and those of us who are fans will buy the ‘limited’ retail release anyway to get the four bonus tracks etc etc.
[EDIT] And Apple paid them anyway so they do okay either way.

Exactly. U2 will have signed a very generous deal with iTunes and Apple over this and both U2 and iTunes will get good press for a free full album available to so many people.
So lets still remember that Bono is still a tosser.

Listening to Blast From Your Past at the moment.
Today in study hall I decided to listen to the second side of Abbey Road which I haven’t done in a long time. It was great. Best part of my day

That song always reminds me of Take Five by Dave Brubeck for some reason. Fun Fact: one of the cash registers in the song was also used in Yellow Submarine .
