Some of The Flaming Lips songs and covers. I wanna get a feel for the band itself before I judge cause the only artist I heard of on the track Miley is only on two songs

Abbey Road . It had been a couple months since the last time I listened to it.

I am from the East and yet the song didn’t click for me the first time I heard it. Not a great fan of eastern music, I thought the use of sitar and eastern feel sounded monotonous at first. But now that I have really gave it a listen I quite like it. For me the song quite simply and succinctly reflects the real and complete George Harrison .

Kinks – Arthur (Or The Decline and Fall of the British Empire)
No wonder most shorten it to just Arthur.

This is so sweet. The Everly’s influence on the Beatles is clear, as is Holly’s on the Everlys (or maybe Holly and the Everlys influenced each other). The backup band is the Crickets. Off to Wake Up Little Susie…

@Necko, are you a fan of Of Montreal? I liked that song. If so, what albums/other songs do you recommend?
I listened to The Kinks’ Arthur again today, and I enjoyed it greatly. (Yesterday I wasn’t paying much attention to it, which is a bad idea for music you’ve never heard before.) I also listened to their album Face to Face which I also liked quite a bit.
As for now…. no music.

Yes, I am. The albums Satanic Panic In The Attic and The Sunlandic Twins are probably the most “Beatle-esque.” The most recent one, Lousy With Sylvianbriar, which is where the above song comes from, is pretty good, too.

Alright, thanks. I’ve heard snippets of some songs from SPITA, because I’ve heard it’s great, and they sounded really good. I’ll check them out tomorrow!

Right now, it’s another spin on CrashDiet’s The Savage Playground. I know; not exactly everyone’s cup of tea. But it’s the type of stuff I dig most.
