Interesting vonbontee — never heard of Byron Morris and Unity. Sounds like Mandrill meets Tower of Power meets early Miles Davis.
This afternoon I decided to have a listen to a few Elvis Presley gospel songs. I’d heard he loved and sang gospel music, but I never actually listened to any.
The King, and the King of Kings:

Abbey Road – currently Here Comes The Sun
After 45 years of listening, I just noticed something at the 2:19 mark of Maxwell’s Silver Hammer . Paul (it is Paul isn’t it? – It’s So Hard to tell on some songs and no time to look it up – gotta take this album on the road) almost breaks out in laughter cuz he slightly mispronounces a word. It doesn’t surprise me that much that they left it in – they’re the Beatles, they can do anything! But it surprised me because I’d never heard it before.

See? awesome!
Oh, and I’m listening to Cecil Taylor again. “Silent Tongues” this time, solo piano at the Montreaux Jazz Festival in ’74.

Hehe…
When I returned to this forum after a nearly four-year absence late last year, I was really surprised to see that the thread that I started was still going.
Anyway, I’m not listening to anything other than a TV program, so I’d better leave.
I'm Necko. I'm like Ringo except I wear necklaces.
I'm also ewe2 on weekends.
Most likely to post things that make you go hmm... 2015, 2016, 2017.

It’s probably my most-posted-to thread! Either this or the derail, which is twice as long anyways.
Listening to the usual noisy stuff. John Coltrane’s “A Love Supreme: Pursuance” (live at the Antibes Jazz Festival July 23/1965)
