this is notable for the guitar intro by Simon. The harmonies are as good as you’d expect, but I have a live mp3 that sounds like a third part (counteralto? falsetto? pretty sure it’s male) higher than Art’s usual alto comes in in the middle (no, it’s not Paul Also, the crowd roars just as the alleged third part comes in. I got the file from somewhere about 12 years ago, and it doesn’t give any indication other than S&G live. The harmonies are really sweet, better than I can ever remember hearing from just S&G, despite their talents as a duet. Anyone with a good ear care to help me verify whether a 3rd part does in fact come in halfway through? Thanks if so, but not a huge deal…

I’m listening to “Get Up And Go” by The Rutles. (Composed by our own Ron Nasty! Or so my windows media player tells me.)

I was expecting them to argue about who starts singing and when before one storms off stage. Disappointing.
Listening to Emmylou Harris’ 1983 album ‘White Shoes’. Her voice is as good as always but the material is weak and the production is that horrid comfortable, cold, empty 80’s stuff i really dislike.

Recorded in my neck of the woods – Beatles, Emmylou, Scotland. I’ve been passed the place a number of times (you never go to Kilwinning except to get to somewhere else). She played last year in Glasgow, hopefully she’ll return.

As it’s the anniversary of the release of Sgt. Pepper ‘s, both Saturday with the Beatles and Breakfast with the Beatles played the album in its entirety this weekend. And now the latter show is playing “Return to Pepperland ,” one of my Paul favorites.
