The latest playlist for the trek thru Paul’s career (it goes track 10). I had to take a break between tracks 5 and 6 as it was a battle getting passed one P.S. Love Me Do never mind two. Went of and cleansed my palette with some Emmylou before ploughing on thru the final version. It is such a poor track. Return To Pepperland is not bad, starting ok before going into Nelson Mandela being in prison in the middle, the less said about the final third the better.

Since parlance put up the recent Paul monthly Q&A from his website and it mentioned “English Tea”, mom wanted to hear the song. We are listening to the whole album (Chaos And Creation In The Backyard ).
Can buy Joe love! Amazon | iTunes

yea me again…i tore myself away from. George and decided to attack the complete BBC broadcasts again…there’s a really jammin version of Monkey Business on what is Volume 3 of my copy.
but right at this moment it’s Young Blood, a classic song (by Lieber/Stoller et al) for sure – john sings it wonderfully

I wouldnt say its a waste of 6 hours talking to a renewed love.
And Let It Be Me is a gorgeous rendition.

Oh I’m not saying the time was wasted – she’s “the one” and I haven’t enjoyed an afternoon as much in 5 years, since she left me – just a waste of “ear time”
And needless to say, ATMP and Early Takes 1 have been wonderful the last few days – talk about George and his love songs!
But to be on topic, here’s what I just saw and listened to:
The song is a tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughn and all departed bluesmen. If you’re a fan of such stuff, and aren’t familiar with the song, definitely read this wiki entry. The next song in the show was Jeff Beck’s I’m Going Down. Guitar fans, drool away – I was lucky enough to see Beck himself play the song as the encore (and only song with vocals) to his 1981 concert! It was absolutely incredible, my first truly amazing guitarist live (I’ve since been lucky enough to see Eric (1989), Buddy Guy (2013), Steve Hackett (with Genesis, 1982), and a couple other serious guitar players since). And yes, we drank Beck’s beer before the show

Ok, after 5+ hours of screaming guitar, this is sweet
ok i’m not sure why it’s not showing up in the preview – it’s a circa 1976 Saturday Night Live performance of George Harrison and Paul Simon singing and playing Here Comes The Sun . I have an mp3 if anyone wants it, save you the trouble of ripping it from the youtube…later in the show, Simon dressed up as a funky chicken and sang Still Crazy After all these Years! It was funny at the time anyway…
