@Expert Textpert , your message is after tr’s.
May our @trcanberra have a Rubber Soul so that he may bounce back from the curve life has thrown at him.
I’m listening to Press To Play . A line in “However Absurd” just reminded me of a conversation Ex Tex and I have had. I’ve heard the song many times before, but I heard it with new ears this afternoon.
Have I mentioned before that I love this forum? So much input, so many positive vibes.
EDIT: I changed editors so I could “mention” you, Ex Tex. It keeps putting your mention at the top of the post. Oh, my. What weirdness.

I’ve heard they’re good. They seem interesting, might look into them… The Beetles?
I don’t know why people find the spelling so hard! They play Beat music, they want to be better than all other bands and change how we all perceive music for the next few years at least. So the name is Beat-all’s, which they have sensibly shortened to Beatals. It isn’t difficult to get their feckin’ name right!
EDIT: But they’ll never be as big as The Rutles – who they constantly rip-off, IMO!
Thanks for the clarification! These Beatals do seem to be very similar to the Rutles… Maybe they’re parodying their music?

The “Foxy Lady” jam at the end of Paul’s Let Me Roll It on the bootleg of the show I saw. It’s really interesting listening to a show I was at. There was a youtube video of one song, a comment said something about a backing track – it’s clear there isn’t one. Ok now it’s Paperback Writer …

Philadelphia’s Classic Rock 102.9 WMGK
I listen to it at work – they played “Money (That’s What I Want)” a little earlier. I can listen to the Beatles any time I want, but I still get a thrill when I hear them on the radio!
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

Wow, I didn’t think there existed anymore classic-rock stations that played music as far back as 1963! In my experience, the cutoff is usually about 1964 or ’65 – and there’s maybe a dozen tracks from those years that still get airplay.
Pretty depressing when a station’s “oldies” consist of music from the ’70s, 80s and 90s!

Ooh, ooh – they are now (4:15 PM Eastern Time) playing a feature called Afternoon Beatles Break! It started with a past interview the current DJ did with Paulie – talking about the 1976 SNL “almost reunion”.
Now playing ‘Day Tripper ‘.
Now playing ‘Can’t Buy Me Love ‘.
**Audio clip of reporter: “Why are you called the Beatles?” – John: “Why not?”**
Now playing ‘Paperback Writer ‘.
I need a wet-nap and a cigarette.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

I have homework for art class: I have to listen to some John Lennon songs.
You see, today in class, the teacher was doing a demonstration on how to plan out linocuts, a type of print in solid black and white. Here’s an example:
We could chose any subject we wanted, but most of the students (including myself) chose photos of landscapes or silhouettes to work from. That’s why I was surprised to see the teacher use this photo for his demonstration: . Sadly, only one person (besides me) knew who he was, so the teacher gave a brief overview of who he was and told us to find and listen to some of his songs—most likely because he’s a musician as well as a visual artist. Anyway, I don’t have a problem with this assignment; I’ll get started right away with “Strawberry Fields Forever .”

I heard this song for the first time today—in fact, I hadn’t even heard of it until today. It’s pretty cool to say the least.
You know, sometimes I’m a little envious of the superior Beatle-knowledge many of you possess, but maybe it’s you who should be jealous: not having heard many of the rarer Beatles tracks, I still get to experience the thrill of hearing an awesome Beatles tune for the first time

Revolver from US Albums up next for me, that puts me back at 1970 when I will kick off with Hey Jude then Sentimental Journey begins the solo years rediscovery (can’t wait for that part to start – a LOT of albums I have either never heard or not heard for 25+ years). I’ll report on impressions as I go.

Indeed, I spend a lot more time on the forum, so I often forget that the main site has plenty to explore as well. I’ll have to start reading it more often. And once I’m finally able to purchase the Anthology albums, I should be more familiar with such songs.
Also, “*plug plug*”? Maybe I’m just missing something, but I have no idea what that means—Wait , I just looked it up, never mind.

^^^ I quite like that one – I hope it gets a new CD release one day soon.
Assuming this is in reference to Wonderwall Music and not Warning?
