Got Off The Ground from my record store yesterday.
What a load of badness. I can’t even believe this is Paul, it’s SO BAD. Can’t even listen to it after the first time. At least he came back with Flaming Pie and he’s been excellent since then.
So now it’s

I like Off The Ground , took me years to really get into it but its really grown on me – Paul’s Save the Planet album.
I’m listening to nothing and damn well enjoying it.

I like the album. I’ve had this song/lyric stuck in my head all morning
We live in hope of deliverance

Not to be mean or anything, but why on earth did you buy it then? Why didn’t you just check it out on Youtube or whatever first? Would’ve saved you money.
Buying records the old-school way! You go into the record store, see the record staring right at you…gotta buy it!

I never listen to anything before I buy it. It would ruin the experience.
I’m listening to Flowers In The Dirt right now.

Because I like to search through the record store. The thrill of finding something I really want (like a Paul album) in the cheap section (it was only $2.50) is fantastic.
I was gonna have to get it eventually anyway, to get all of Paul’s albums. The other options for that price from Paul were Memory Almost Full (which I already have), Back In The US (which is live), and Standing Stone . So this was the only Paul rock studio album I didn’t already have for that price. I’m happy that I bought it, even if I don’t love it.

Give it some time. Maybe it will grow on you like it did on mmm. Or at least maybe some songs or highlights will.

The Lovers That Never Were, Winedark Open Sea, Hope of Deliverance and C’mon People were the ones that kept bringing me to the album. Normally i’d only play those but once in a while it would get played thru and thats where Peace In The Neighbourhood, I Owe It All To You and Looking for Changes really grew on me and the rest are ok.
Out of note isn’t this the first album which has Paul swearing during one of the songs (b*****d in Looking For Changes)? Paul also swears in ‘Big Boys Bickering’ (“f*****g it up for everyone”), issued on the Hope of Deliverance cd single.

Wow, Paulie dropping F-bombs on record! Whatever would his Auntie Gin say (if she were around)?
RIGHT NOW LISTENING TO: Some choral something-or-other on the classical station. (Can’t identify it.) (Don’t like it.) (I generally dislike the sound of the human voice(-es) in the field of “serious” music anyways.)

John of course dropped the F-bomb in this little ditty here…
