Have also decided that i’m going to listen to all of Paul’s studio albums (including related singles & officially released outtakes) chronologically all the way from McCartney to New – the mid-80’s period is quite a scary thought. Already done his debut. Ooh You has grown on me and is actually enjoyable, The Lovely Linda can be filed alongside Maggie May and Dig It in the “any longer it would be annoying but as it is it’s a good listen”.Overall side 1 (TLL to Man We Was Lonely) is a very pleasant and enjoyable listening experience (have always loved Man We Was Lonely), side 2 is when things begin to plod along a little with tracks like Teddy Boy (dull filler – “boring people doing boring things”), Momma Miss America & Koreen-Akrore (both too rambling and a little unexciting). Singalong Junk is far more preferable to Junk with it’s lovely piano however. Maybe I’m Amazed from One Hand Clapping has a fabulous Paul vocal by the way.
I love this album so much. I do really enjoy the second half of Momma Miss America, just Paul messing around, doing a solo… something about it just strikes the right note with me.
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

I’ve just walked down to the lake with my dog. I’m sitting on the end of the pier listening to beautiful versions of “To Know Her Is to Love Her” and “Besame Mucho ” while watching the beautiful, bright, full moon reflecting on the gentle ripples in the lake. Bliss.

Sounds awesome – would love to head to the lake near here but don’t want to turn into a melted puddle on the pavement on the way there

Just got back home. It was awesome, trcanberra.
Puddles are made of water. Water has a tendency to fry electronics. Then we wouldn’t have your posts to look forward to. So, please, stay in and stay cool.

Well, first post. Great site.
Got me thinking about recent songs listened to. Played my son “McCartney.” Boy, was it good. Unique, earthy. Uncompicated. That could be my fave solo Macca album. Then, stimulated by a read yesterday of the backstory here to “And I Love Her,” I found the 1991 live version. Paul in his solo prime with a really good version of Wings. They slow it down, way down, to a real soulful tune. Paul’s singing, especially his vamping, is wonderful. The guy who sings harmony is great, too, as is the guitarist – great vibrato on Georges’s solo. If you haven’t heard this before, check it out. It’s pure beauty.

Now, on the New album, I just about fell off my chair when I heard “Early Days .” It first reminded my of late Dylan (Tempest) where Dylan’s voice is so shot – but still so beautiful. Paul’s voice has lost a bit, and the song doesn’t hide it. It’s minimally produced. Paul, if you are reading this: do more like this. Less production. Just let it all hang out. I hope that’s the future direction. Like Frank Sinatra, McCartney will play till the very end. As he should!
So, three Beatle things I’ve been listening to lately. I’m curious on any opinions of ’em. I’d love to plug non-Beatle stuff I’m listening to right now, which is, of course, inspired by them too. But I guess that’s not for this site!

Bob’s Street-Legal – just got it today (yes, getting impatient for my Complete box). It was my favourite of his many years ago – but I have only heard about 10 of his albums so far.
I’m alternating with Beatles – latest there was Anthology 3 disc 1 last night.

Tangled Up In Blue – Bob Dylan
Nice track – been alternating Dylan and the Beatles a bit lately.
Just 5 minutes ago my latest listen was Anthology 3 – disc 2. I liked Anthology 3 more than Anthology 2 , but overall still prefer Anthology 1 for the history.
