Forgot to say…….have also discovered Nick Cave’s “The Carnival Is Over” (heard it at a funeral last week).

Brilliant.

In my opinion Wind and Wuthering is much better.

The Only One – Kendall Payne. One of my favourite artists ever. I don’t know anyone else who likes her.a-hard-days-night-ringo-13a-hard-days-night-ringo-14

A NICK CAVE tune is being used in a TV ad campaign?!

Yep, the SA Tourist Commission advertising the Barossa Valley, a beautiful wine-growing district in South Australia.  It seems pretty unlikely, and I know it’s only an ad, but it’s actually really good.  Their previous campaign featured Eddie Vedder’s “Rise” and it did very well for them.

OK, it’s more understandable if it’s an Australian campaign!

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been..  I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene..  Banjos!  Banjos!  All the time, I can't forget that tune..  and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

Rush’s latest album “Clockwork Angels.” From the minute it came out, I’ve thought it’s a top 10 album of theirs…it’s so good!

The first Stones’ album I’ve ever bought for myself – and very happy I am with it!

Cold Fact by Rodriguez.

And for a laugh, Atheists Don’t Have No Songs – Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers.

Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back To Black’ – a truly beautiful lp by a remarkable woman. I think it’s just hitting me that she’s no longer here, and won’t ever make music again.

When will it end??  Yes – still trying to get through the last part of the Toronto video but my son keeps trying to get me to turn it off.
