Its down to the myth that they are a myth and dont exist. Helps with their safety tho as no one comes to try and hunt and kill them. Haggii (the plural of haggis) can roam in comfort until their destiny is fulfilled. There are some farms but also many haggii are allowed to roam the Scottish countryside freely.
I have never actually seen a haggis before (having never been to Scotland) but I’ve heard that they’re very friendly. One of them went up to my friend before and let her pet it- cute little things they are.

Offline I’m not! I’ve been on nil-by-mouth since lunch yesterday because I have tests to be done at the doctor’s this morning. Just water for the last eighteen-or-so hours.
I’m fecking starving!!! At least another 3-and-a-half hours until I can eat (depending on how long the doctor’s take). I’m hungry!

Hope it all goes well – and those ‘nil-by-mouth’ can be almost as much of a trial as having to hold 50 gallons of water for hours for an ultrasound.

Offline Thanks, @trcanberra. Went as well as, had some of meds changed, wait for test results.
Am about to tuck into slow cooked pork in a cider and sage sauce with pork and onion stuffing balls and thyme roasted potatoes.

Offline I had around 22 hours nil-by-mouth. I wanted something to look forward to, and time to prepare it, @Zig.
It’s kind of a hit-and-miss each time as there’s no real recipe as such, just a series of steps really. Give me a day or two and I’ll email something. Just need to try and think about proportions, etc.

Had to Google nil-by-mouth. It means what I figured. I know this is a bit of a tangent, but I love the simplicity in a lot of UK terms and phrases.
In any event, if you could please put something together for me, that would be wonderful as it sounds so delicious. The thyme roasted potatoes would be fairly easy to reckon, but I would mostly be interested in how you put together the slow cooked pork in a cider and sage sauce with pork and onion stuffing balls. It sounds like a great meal for a holiday or a wintry Sunday.
