Dunno about the optometrists part – I find those green apples very hard to see through.

I’d happily burn all kindles. Books are so much better.

I haven’t gotten one yet, but I expect I will within five years or so (by the time they’re obsolete and have been replaced with something better.) I’m told they have a “word search” feature, which is something I’ve long wanted…the idea that I can be reading a long novel with a lot of characters, and can instantly scan the book to see where so-and-so was first introduced is really appealing.

I’m not really a fan of digital books, and would join mmm at the kindle bonfire, but that word search thing does sound useful.

I prefer to read books unless the story isn’t available on paper

You write the name of each character and the page they were introduced on one of the blank pages at the front of the book.
EDIT:Sometimes I write plot twists there too.

Sometimes when their is a character list, I x out all the people who die so if someone teleports to my place, when reading a book don’t look at the character list.

I’m roasting garlic for the first time to spread on a loaf of bread. *Fingers crossed* that this turns out.

I have grapefruit juice every day! Not a fan of gin, however; it’s an acquired/British taste.
I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

I can’t believe that you modern, technologically savvy people cling to Gutenberg. I have been a voracious reader my entire life, but I haven’t touched a book in at least six years. I use the Kindle app for IPad. It is to books what the Beatles were to the Dave Clark Five.
