I’m not eating right now. I’m thinking of eating. In my fridge at the moment I have a dozen asparagus tips, 4 portobello mushrooms, smoked bacon lard-ons, smoked prosciutto, Bavarian smoked cheese, Stilton, antipasti selection (flame seared artichokes, sun dried tomatoes, and Cuquillo olives), and vegetable antipasti (chargrilled courgettes, seared peppers, and roasted mushrooms).
I am thinking asparagus wrapped in smoked prosciutto, bacon lard-ons, and Stilton, with portobello mushrooms, selections from the antipasti (artichokes, tomatoes, courgettes, peppers in different combos), bacon lard-ons, covered with Bavarian smoked cheese.
Sounds good to me!
I’m going to preheat the oven!
You mean Mr. @Ron Nasty, you made me hungry!

Tonight is a takeaway night. Chinese.
I ordered (8x) BBQ Chicken Wings, Crab Meat & Sweetcorn Soup, House Special Foo Yung, & House Special Chow Mein. Came with free Prawn Crackers. Tonight the soup and foo yung, maybe a couple of wings. Tomorrow the rest. The House Special is pork, beef, chicken, squid, and king prawns.

My humblest apologies, @Oudis. I shall give up eating immediately! At least my last ever meal was a lovely Chinese. Oh, wait! I haven’t finished it yet… I will give up eating once I’ve finished my Chinese. Possibly. Maybe. Doubt it, I like eating… It helps keep my failing body tickety-boo!

Taco Bell’s #5 combo meal – Nachos Bell Grande, a taco, and a half Dr. Pepper/half Diet Dr. Pepper drink. I’m glad there is a Taco Bell near campus. I don’t go out for lunch often.

Well, this is about drinking, not eating, but… Anyways, just drank one third of a bottle of red wine –my friend D. and I had a barbeque/pipe smoking mini party last night and there was some wine left. I drank it thirty minutes ago; I already have a headache. Wine is not for me, I’ll stick to beer from now on (Oh Bacchus, Bacchus, My Sweet Lord , forgive me!)

In around 45 minutes I will be tucking into a slow cooked lamb shank with honey roasted onions, carrots, swede and parsnips in a red wine, mint and lentil gravy. Sorry!

I realized this post about Irish snacks vs. American was probably more appropriate here.
I found some others – I won’t embed the videos so as not to slow the loading time. I like these BuzzFeed videos because the editing is just right. They don’t belabor the point.
British People Taste Test American Snacks
Americans Taste Test British Snacks
Americans Try British McDonald’s
Australians Taste Test American Snacks
Australians Taste Test American Sweets
Americans Taste Test Australian Food
Someone’s holding a box of Tim Tams, but they didn’t show him trying that for some reason, which is unfortunate because I do that Tim Tam Slam whenever I can afford them.

I’d joined you too. I had microwaved kettle corn.
I found another Irish people try American snacks video.
They gave them the worst stuff. Even as a kid I had conversations with other kids about how gross Goober looked. And it’s way too sweet. I grew up on Skippy, which, compared to other commercial peanut butters, isn’t that sweet. So Jif was already too much for me. Nowadays, if I want PB&J, I use natural peanut butter and throw in whatever I’m in the mood for, like strawberry jam, or sometimes honey. I also tend to toast the bread. At some point, non-toasted bread seemed too mushy and gross to eat.
And I’ve never had any desire to try marshmallow fluff.
An interesting thing these videos highlight for me that I’ve never considered is that apparently junk food seems to appear more prominently in American television and movies than in other cultures. Whereas many of the taste-testers said they’ve heard about Twinkies and Pop Tarts from watching American shows, I can’t say I know nearly as much about junk food in the UK from watching British television, for instance.

You are able to get Pop Tarts over here! Too sickly sweet for my liking- the majority of my American food knowledge comes from books and The Simpsons “nobody better lay a finger on my Butterfinger”- apparently they taste awful, I thought they looked quite nice.
Confession: I have never eaten peanut butter, I never really noticed it in my local shops until about 3 years ago and even then you’re only able to find it in supermarkets, local corner shops generally just have Nutella.

Junk food being advertised on UK TV over the last few years has reduced dramatically due to the effect they have on the kids watching who then go and bug their parents to buy all that crap. Yes you can question the parents but if the ads aren’t plastered all over the tv at peak kid-watching times then it helps.
Used to love Pop Tarts but like ASJ found them to be incredibly sickly so stopped eating them. Plus you could lose your mouth and hands eating one when it was straight out of the toaster.
