Black rice sushi with salmon and avocado filling. And also a couple of kiwifruit (or ‘kiwis’ as some say, but not us here in NZ. Kiwis are only either our native national bird, or us, who call the place home)

Red Beans and Rice for lunch and chocolate Moon Pie for snack/dessert. Contrary to popular to popular belief, I prefer my Moon Pie with a Barq’s Root Beer, sweet tea, or milk. It’s a popular belief/tradition you are suppose to drink it with a RC Cola; however, I had never heard of this tradition until reading on the internet. Maybe it’s a regional thing where the Moon Pies are from in Chattanooga, TN. Where I am from a RC Cola is a bit hard to come by. They sell it in stores around here, but not every store has it like they do Coca-Cola and Pepsi products. Barq’s began in Biloxi, MS and has been owned by Coca-Cola since 1995; therefore, it’s easier for someone to access it especially along a Mardi Gras parade route.

I don’t know that I’ve seen RC Cola for sale anywhere in Canada since the 80s, and didn’t even frequently see it in the 70s either. Not that I cared much; I preferred Coke or Pepsi, cola-wise. I probably drank RC more than the one time; but the only time I definitely remember doing so was kinda traumatic: the can had been infiltrated with some slimy viscous stuff, which felt like I was drinking spit! Obviously I never finished the mouthful, or the rest of the can, or tried it again. (Barq’s is the best rootbeer, agree )
As for me, I made a big ol’ pot of delicious chili on this snowy blowy day, and am about to grab my second bowlful, in fact. Spicy!
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.
