Did a big casserole that will keep me going for a few days, and digging into my first bowl now.
Mixed meat (beef, pork and chicken) with potatoes, peas, carrots, brown and white chestnut mushrooms, baby sweetcorn, red onions, shallots, leeks, swede and butternut squash, in a beef and (about half a bottle of) Malbec wine gravy.
AG got me a decent kitchen knife for Chrimble which arrived while I was in hospital, and that got its first proper workout today. Cut up the beef chuck steaks and chicken breasts with ease, and didn’t struggle with the tougher veg like the swede and butternut squash.
Just finished a bottle of London Porter, have just opened a Cheshire Chocolate Porter, to be followed by a Greenwich Winter Spiced Porter.

Substitute “…Corn Flakes” for “Special K”; add blueberries and half a banana to the strawberries; throw in a small glass of orange juice and a slice of buttered toast, and you have a remastered and expanded version of the same breakfast. (Coffee and cream unchanged.)

Offline Homemade burger.
Burger 250g Aberdeen Angus steak mince, 1 egg, finely diced red onion, berbere spice mix (chilli, salt, black pepper, cumin, coriander seed, fenugreek, allspice, cloves, ginger, cardamom, and nutmeg).
Seeded brioche bun, caramelised red onion chutney on bottom half of bun, burger next, sliced gerkin (pickle) and fried onions on top, slice of Emmental cheese, scrape of wholegrain mustard on top half of bun.
