Hey Everyone,
And thus begins area 4, Clinton.
Also happy Father’s Day yesterday!
Also Happy 76th Birthday to Paul McCartney , and happy 19th to my MTC companion.
Monday: We spent most of the day in Fairfield. I did some packing. We had an appointment in Simms in the afternoon that we went to. She ended up not being home. While we were there we ran into the owner of the apartments the lady lived in, and she told us we weren’t allowed to solicit there. She was pretty angry and told us that there should be “no soliciting” signs outside but she forgot to put them up. We told her that this lady invited us to come back. She didn’t have much to say to that.
Tuesday: I packed most of the day. We had a lesson with our progressing investigator. Then we said goodbye to some people in Fairfield. In the evening we had dinner with the Fairfield Bishop, and he invited our progressing investigator as well.
Wednesday: I headed to Great Falls in the morning, then off to Helena after some goodbyes. In Helena we met up with a bunch of other missionaries. We got together with our new zone members and headed to our areas. We got to Missoula and I met my new companion. We drove to our area, and I got a bit unpacked. Then we headed off to dinner with our old ward mission leader and talked a bit about the area.
Thursday: We did service for this lady helping her clean out her basement. She then fed us lunch. After that we went to Missoula to meet the zone leaders to discuss business. We had dinner that night with a younger couple. The husband’s brother and his wife was staying with them. The husband’s brother’s wife talked about how she and her brother wrote sketches for Studio C. The one she wrote didn’t make it in, but her Bother had written a couple, like the one with the countries in grocery store, the mirror of erised sketch, and the Hunger Games songs.
Friday: We went and spent most of the day helping these people give their cattle shots. It was pretty neat. I got to work one of the doors on the little chamber you have to get them in. I also had the job of worming the cows, and putting this sticker on their back that will turn colors if they are ready to mate.
Saturday: We went and contacted a bunch of people in East Missoula that were in our area book. We were able to get some return appointments. We also had some people that didn’t answer, so we can try them again maybe later. We then contacted people as we headed into Clinton for dinner.
Sunday: We had church in Clinton. The main theme this week was Family history. We had a training in the 3rd hour on how to get started in doing family history work. Later on we contacted a few more people in the area. We visited a part member family and talked with them a bit and shared a message.
That’s all for this week. Keep it cool everyone!
Peace and Love,
William Shears Campbell

Hey Everyone,
Monday: We went to Missoula for preparation day. We hung out with the Missoula missionaries as well as some Great Falls missionaries who were spending the night for Zone Conference. In the evening we went to our dinner appointment and talked about the area.
Tuesday: We got up early. The 4 missionaries staying with us left for Zone Conference, and Elder Slade and I went to the doctors. My companion needed a colonoscopy and he had to set it up Tuesday morning. So we did that and then went to Zone Conference. It was President and Sister Wadsworth’s last Zone Conference, so like half the mission met in Missoula. We said goodbye to them and then took a bunch of pictures and stuff. We are going to have another Zone conference this transfer with President and Sister Larson.
Wednesday: We had a lesson with an excommunicated member who wants to return to the church. Then we visited a member family and had dinner with them.
Thursday: My companion had to be on a liquid diet for his colonoscopy the next day so we spent most of the day at a members house so we could be out of the apartment, but near a bathroom. In the evening he had to take the first half of the jug of NuLYTELY.
Friday: In the morning my companion drank the rest of the NuLYTELY. Then we went to the colonoscopy. While there we exchanged with the zone leaders for a few hours during the procedure. I went out with one of the zone leaders. We helped the sisters look for some creepy people that came into the building wanting to see the bishop. We didn’t find them, so we were pretty sure they left. Then we went and tracted a bit, until the colonoscopy was over. After that we went up to Drummond to spend the evening.
Saturday: We got up and had breakfast, then headed over to the church to play Pickle Ball. It’s kind of like tennis, but with a solid racket, and a wiffle ball. After that we contacted all of the investigators in our area book for Drummond which only took like an hour because none of them answered. Then we visited members to get to know the members in Drummond. In the evening we had dinner with the branch mission leader and discussed some activities that were to happen in the branch in the next month.
Sunday: We went to church in Drummond, and then went to a member’s house for lunch. They had a bunch of family visiting, so it was pretty crowded. Then we headed back down to East Missoula to meet with one of the investigators that we set up a return appointment with last week. It turned out that they were members who were inactive. We shared a message with them and got to know them a bit. Then we went to dinner and helped them put up their window air conditioner after the meal.
That was the crazy week. It has been fun to serve in this area the past couple weeks. I see promise on the horizon with getting the work back up and running.
Peace and Love,
William Shears Campbell
Also on Monday I took advantage of being near Missoula, and I got 4 Beatles records I’m going to send home:
George’s Wonderwall Music , and Gone Troppo ;
Ringo’s Beaucoups of Blue;
The Beatles Tapes From The David Wigg Interviews.

Hey Everyone!
Well it’s just another week in the neighborhood, and by neighborhood I mean our giant area.
Also I hit 11 months today!
Monday: We did the basic preparation day things. Y’know, grocery shop, hang out in the cultural hall. In the evening we were going to go on a bike ride with a member, but mv companion had a flat tire.
Tuesday: We helped one of our investigators move this stuff out of his back yard. After that we went to Missoula to clean the stake center, then we came back and had a lesson with the same investigator. In the evening we helped the guy at our dinner appointment put dirt in his truck and take it to his house.
Wednesday: We had district meeting in the morning. Then my comapnion had to take care of some medical stuff in town. After that we had a lesson with a family in East Missoula.
Thursday: We had a lesson after lunch, but it canceled. We then went to our dinner appointment, then had a lesson with an investigator at the church.
Friday: We spent most of the day helping this family on their ranch. Then we headed up to Seeley Lake after dinner.
Saturday: In the morning we mowed the lawn for the people housing us for the weekend. After that we stopped by this lady’s house and helped her move some rocks across her yard. Then we went to lunch and then helped our lunch appointment do some stuff around their property. In the evening we went over to this old couple in the middle of nowhere. My comapnion had offered to help them do groundwork training with their horse. While he did that I talked with them, and explained a bit about what we do.
Sunday: We went to church in the morning. Afterwards we visited a member family and shared Set A Date with them. Then we headed back to Clinton and visited a couple people there to finish off the night.
I love you all very much!
Peace and Love,
William Shears Campbell

Hello Everyone,
I hope you all had wonderful 4th of July. Also happy birthday to Ringo, this last Saturday.
Anyway here’s the week.
Monday: We did service in the morning for this older couple in East Missoula. Then we spent the rest of the day in Missoula for preparation day stuff. In the evening we exchanged with the zone leaders and blitzed the area. I had dinner with their ward mission leader.
Tuesday: In the morning I went with one of the zone leaders down to Clinton. Then we came back to help clean the stake center. For the rest of the day we worked on contacting a bunch of people in the area we weren’t ever able to get a hold of. It was a pretty successful day.
Wednesday: We headed to Missoula in the morning to help work a 4th of July breakfast. We were there for like 3 hours. Then we went with the zone leaders to help these people move from our area to theirs. Then we helped this guy in our ward move a fridge into his house. Then we spent the evening at a members house where we had hamburgers, and watched fireworks a bit.
Thursday: We went to Missoula to get some baptismal suits for a baptism in Seely Lake. We then ended up meeting with some missionaries and getting lunch. Then we had a couple of lessons with some excommunicated members that are working on coming back to the church.
Friday: We had zone conference most of the day. We met in Missoula and then drove down to Helena. We got to meet our new mission president, President Larson. He’s from Arizona. I ended up sitting with him, his wife, and their 15 year old son (as well as like 3 other missionaries) at lunch. After that we went to dinner, and then spent the evening picking up trash around the block. While we were picking up trash I passed a house that was playing Sgt. Pepper with their windows open. Tender mercies! I may have purposely passed that house like 3 times. I’m sure there’s 0 trash in front of it now, considering how much time I spent picking up trash by the house.
Saturday: We cleaned out a lady’s gutter and got paint out of her window frames so she could open her windows. Then we helped the guy from Wednesday move out the fridge which he found did not work, and get another new one in the house.
Sunday: We went to church. We taught the Sunday school class in second hour, about covenants. After that we took the sacrament to an older couple in East Missoula. Then we visited the less actives that we originally thought were nonmembers. In the evening we had dinner with our bishop and then dinner with a family in East Missoula. Then we rode our bikes with a guy in Bonner.
That’s all for this week. I hope you all have a wonderful week.
Peace and Love,
William Shears Campbell
Also here’s a street in Bonner that I found picture worthy.

In response to ASJ:
I’ve only moved 3 or 4 lawns on my mission. I guess in the last few months I’ve been mowing more than usual. Also hay fever doesn’t work like that, lol. I actually have hay fever, which is really just allergies to the pollen and what not(at least that’s what I’ve been told, so if there’s some other definition I’m not aware of don’t shoot me please). My hay fever doesn’t get that bad when I mow the lawn, however while bucking hay, it was horrible. Although I suppose that makes sense considering the name…

Quite appropriate that there is a ‘stop’ sign underneath. It is a signal to stop and take the time to smell the roses!

Hey Everyone
Well another transfer is reaching it’s close. Next week I will know whether or not I will stay here in Clinton. In only a few weeks I will have reached my year mark. Time is going by so fast.
Monday: We went to Missoula and did the normal preparation day things. We didn’t have a dinner so we had dinner at this burger place called Fuddruckers.
Tuesday: We took a trip up to Seely to visit the lady that my companion is working the horse for. While he worked the horse I talked with them about the gospel. Then we had dinner with them. That made up most of our day.
Wednesday: We had district meeting in the morning, and then district lunch. After that we had lessons in East Missoula. Then we went to buck hay with our bishop in Clinton and his son.
Thursday: We had interviews in the morning, and then went back to our area with one of the assistants. This area was the assistant’s first area, so he knew some people here. We visited some people and did some tracting and were able to set up a lesson with a guy for the next day.
Friday: We woke up early in the morning to go buck more hay at bishop’s, however the hay was for someone else. We did that until about 8, then we dropped the assistant off in Frenchtown so he could meet up with his companion and head to Butte. We took some time to go to my companion’s MRI. Afterwards, we attempted to contact the guy we set the lesson up with, but he was in the middle of a nap and told us to come back next week. After that we drove up to Drummond and attempted to contact some people until the end of the day.
Saturday: We played pickle ball in the morning. We were able to set up a lesson with one of the non members there who is interested in the church. She told us to come by Monday. At our lunch appointment we met a kid who is from Vegas and wants to be baptized in the next couple weeks before he goes back home. His brother is a member and he has had the lessons before. We said we could make that happen. The rest of the day we did some tracting and other finding around Drummond. We had a few people answer but not too many.
Sunday: We went to church. After church we set up a lesson with the kid we met yeaterday that wants to be baptized. We taught him the first 3 lessons and set tennative baptismal date for the 21st. We planned to teach him the last bit of stuff the next day. In the evening we talked with the branch president and visited with his family.
I hope you all are doing great. This area seems as though it is on its way out of the hole it was in. Hard work pays off. If you can get up and get to work everyday, miricales can and will happen. It doesn’t matter what job or task you have ahead of you, it can be done with enough faith and hard work.
Peace and Love,
William Shears Campbell
A Beatley thing, we were in this restaurant for dinner on Saturday evening. They played a bunch of country music in the restaurant, but in the middle of it, *I heard Paul sing about his mother visiting in a dream
*I heard them play Let It Be
EDIT:
Here’s another Beatley thing I forgot to mention.
In interviews on Thursday, President talked about how his kids grew up on classic rock bands, like the Beatles. He also told me about this Family Circus comic he saw once where one of the kids is holding a record and says “Did you know Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings?” I thought that was pretty amusing.

Hello Everyone!
Well as far as transfer new goes I’m leaving Clinton and will be going to Corvallis.
Monday: We spent most of the day in Drummond. We had service in the morning, pulling weeds for our ward mission leader. Then we had another lesson with our investigator from Vegas that wants to be baptized where we taught him the rest of the points. Then we had another lesson with this lady and her husband in Drummond who are interested in the church. After that we came back to Clinton and spent the rest of the day doing preperation day stuff. We also had dinner at Fuddruckers again. One thing I forgot to mention about Fuddruckers last week is it’s decorated with a bunch of rock and roll memorabilia, and there is a whole Beatles corner.
Tuesday: We ran an errand for the Zone leaders in Missoula. Then we went to an ice cream shop called Sweet Peaks since it was my companion’s birthday. We did some tracting in East Missoula after that, and attempted to contact a couple referrals we’ve never been able to contact. In the evening we went to dinner, and they had a birthday party for companion. They made elk steaks and they also had a birthday cake.
Wednesday: We had a couple lessons planned for the day, but the first one got rescheduled for Friday. We did some more tracting in East Missoula, and were able to contact quite a few people. A couple of people had ties to the church, but weren’t interested. However they told us to let them know if we ever needed anything. In the evening we had a dinner appointment that one of our investigators was supposed to be at, however she was unable to make it.
Thursday: We had district meeting, our last with this district. Then we went on exchanges with our district leader. I went with the district leader in his area. We drove to Drummond to do the baptismal interview for our investigator. Then we headed back to Missoula for dinner and a correlation meeting with their ward mission leader. We then had a lesson with an investigator of theirs. Then we went to Sweet Peaks again with the zone to celebrate the person we put on date.
Friday: We did some planning, and then we went to a lesson with another investigator in their area. In the evening we helped this lady move some stuff out of her garage. Then we came back to the apartment, to a bit of a scare. So on Monday, somebody moved a recliner chair into the hallway of our district leader’s apartment. They have no clue who. Well on this day we locked the door to the apartment before we left, and we came back the the deadbolt also locked (which we didn’t lock in the morning). When we entered the apartment the chair was no longer in the hallway. It had been moved into the main room. My overnight bad had also been moved on top of the kitchen cabinets. We figured out that whoever it was got in through on of the windows. We are pretty sure it was missionaries pulling a prank, but we are not sure who.
Saturday: We got up early to do some flood cleanup in the morning. We picked up trash that the flood spread around and put it in a giant dumpster. After that we showered and changed cloths to go to a ward party at the park. We then had a lesson with an investigator who speaks Swahili. He speaks a bit of English but not very well. Then we had dinner and switched back and ended exchanges.
Sunday: We went to church in Clinton. Then in the evening we had the baptism of the kid from Vegas. It was good. I gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. Then on our way home we got our transfer news.
That’s all for this week. Side 2 is coming to an end. “Julia ” is almost over, and will end in less than 2 weeks. Then it will be time to change records, and play side 3, opening with the rocking tune, “Birthday “, just in time for my half birthday!
Anyway, White Album references aside, I hope you all have a nice week. Next time I send one of these I will be in Corvallis.
Peace and Love,
William Shears Campbell
Beatley Moments
Monday at Fuddruckers they played Helter Skelter
At Sweet Peaks the second time I went, the guy told me to put whatever I wanted in the signature box, so I put “Paul Macca”
Also Monday I got 3 more records
Ringo the 4th
Stop And Smell The Roses
Extra Texture
That is all for the week. Take Care.

Hey everybody
This week has been crazy. I’m now in Corvallis, and there is tons of work. Also my companion and I got doubled in, which means the 2 missionaries here both got transferred out, and so both of us are brand new to the area. This is also one of the busiest areas, so it’s pretty hard to not have somebody who is experienced to tell us about everyone.
Monday: We went to Missoula and had one last preparation day with the people in our Zone.
Tuesday: We went to the church cleaning in the morning. Afterwards we had one first and last zone lunch. Then we went to a pioneer day celebration with the ward in East Missoula.
Wednesday: We got up in the morning and headed over to Missoula for transfers. I went with an Elder to Steven’sville to spend a few hours there. We were going to have a lesson, but it cancelled. At about 4 I met my new companion. We headed over to Corvallis and went to dinner. In the evening we went to Hamilton for a presentation on Pinesdale. Pinesdale is a polygamist colony part of the AUB church, which is a branch off of the LDS church. Right now a lot of them are wanting to join our church, so that’s where most of our work is. However we cannot tract in Pinesdale, and if we go to somebody’s house there, there has to be a third Melchizedek Priesthood holder either living in the house or coming with us.
Thursday: We did some street contacting in the morning. Then we took a couple hours to do some weekly planning and figure out this area and all the people in it. In the evening after dinner we had a lesson with a guy in Pinesdale, but he didn’t show up. We ended up teaching his grandparents though. Then we had another lesson with this girl, who’s dad is a member. She wants to get baptized. She asked us to assign her a passage of the Book Of Mormon and have her write an essay on it so she can better study it. This girl is like 13.
Friday: We walked to the church in the morning for studies. Everyone in this town is super nice. They’re all always happy to see you. After studies we had a district leader training since my companion became district leader this transfer. We talked about all the responsibilities of a district leader, and then we talked about how we want to make this zone unified. After that, we had a lesson with a boy in Pinesdale who was getting baptized the next day. We talked with him about baptism. In the evening we visited a less active member who lived in Simms previously (I covered Simms when I served in Fairfield).
Saturday: We went with the zone leaders go make sure the baptismal suit fit the boy getting baptized, who we had a lesson with the previous day. Then we had a lesson with a girl from Utah who grew up in the AUB church who wants to get baptized. We just need to get her an interview with the mission president. So if someone that grew up in a polygamist family wants to get baptized they have to get an interview with the mission president, an interview with a general authority, and another interview with the mission president. We taught a couple of other girls who have been coming to church. The one is waiting on the general authority interview. In the evening we had the baptism of the kid we taught Friday. After that, we had a lesson with the guy that lives above us. He has a firm but odd testimony about the Book Of Mormon.
Sunday: We went to church for the Willow Mountain ward, then we went to church for the Corvallis ward. Then we met with the Corvallis ward bishop. After that we went to dinner and had a lesson with one of the people there. He’s getting really close to baptism.
That’s is for this busy week!
Peace and Love
William Shears Campbell
Also we ate at Pizza Hut this week and they played John’s “Instant Karma “

Hey Everybody,
Well I hit my year mark on Thursday. I only have 4 days less than a year left now.
Monday: We did laundry and emailed, then we went thrift shopping a bit. I got a new tie. Then we went over to this member in Pinesdale who has a basketball court and a bowling alley and stuff. In the evening we were going to have a lesson but it fell through.
Tuesday: We did finding for most of the day and tried to get to know a lot of our investigators. We had a couple of lessons set up but they both fell through.
Wednesday: We had zone conference, so we drove over to Frenchtown early in the morning and drove back in the evening for dinner. After dinner we went street contacting a bit.
Thursday: We had a couple lessons fall through. We did weekly planning and did a bit better of a planning of lessons for the upcoming week.
Friday: We had a lesson with one of our recent converts friends. Then we visited an investigator family in the evening.
Saturday: We had a lesson with some investigators who are super close to baptism. Then we had a dinner appointment with a lady who’s son is wanting to take the lessons.
Sunday: We went to 6 hours of church not counting the 2 extra hours of ward coincil. Then we had dinner, and then a lesson with an investigator who we put on date or September 8th.
Sorry for the brevity of this week. I had a hard time remembering every day this week.
I hope you all are having a wonderful time doing whatever it is you are.
Peace and Love,
William Shears Campbell
Something Beatley, there’s this ice cream shop in Missoula called Sweet Peaks, and I was there twice while in the area. There is a flavor there called Strawberry Feilds Forever. I didn’t notice this until after I ordered the second time I went there. So on the way back from zone conference we stopped at Sweet Peaks, and I was able to get the SFF ice cream. It wasn’t that amazing of a flavor despite its name, but at least I can say I’ve had it.
Also at church this guy was wearing a Sea Of Holes tie, like the one from the Yellow Submarine Movie. The Yellow Submarine was sticking out of one of the holes, so you could tell what it was.
Pics
1. No Friggin Way street sign on the way to Pinesdale
2. A Penny Lane street sign on the way to dinner last night
Also I forgot to send pics of my record finds on my last Monday in Missoula
I got Live Peace 1969 by the Plastic Ono Band.
Then Billy Joel’s Nylon Curtain,
a compilation from Billy Joel’s heavy metal band Attila,
and a maxi single of the Billy Joel song Modern Woman .

Hey Everybody,
Monday: We did our shopping and then went and hung out at the member’s house we were at last week. For dinner we went to this place called Naps where we had 12 Oz burgers. In the evening we had a lesson with our upstairs neighbor.
Tuesday: We had a lesson with 3 of our investigators, one of which is going through the baptismal interview process. Then in the evening we had another lesson with the girl that wanted to write the essay on her Book of Mormon reading.
Wednesday: We went contacting in the morning for a bit. Then in the evening we went on splits with a guy in the Willow Mountain ward. We visited this family over in Pinesdale.
Thursday: We had district meeting in the morning. Then we did weekly planning. In the evening we had a lesson with an investigator in Pinesdale.
Friday: We had quite a few lessons. One in the afternoon and two in the evening. We were pretty busy.
Saturday: We didn’t have too much going on. We ended up tracting for two and a half hours, and then visited a couple of members
Sunday: We went to church in the morning and got out at four in the evening as usual. Afterwards we had 2 lessons. One with the boy that is getting baptized on the 1st. The other was with a family in Pinesdale.
That’s it for this week. Stay cool everyone!
Peace and Love,
William Shears Campbell

Hey Everybody
Monday: We did the normal preparation day thing. We did our chores and then headed down to the member’s house in Pinesdale we always go to. In the evening we had a lesson but it cancelled
Tuesday: We had a lesson with one of our investigators, and then we walked around and did some finding. Later we had another lesson but it got cancelled.
Wednesday: We did a little bit of tracting during the day. In the evening we had a lesson
Thursday: We started to do weekly planning but then we got stopped because we had a couple service projects. One was going to help this lady move some furniture. The other was helping this guy move a piano, but it got cancelled.
Friday: We had district council but we met as a zone. We combined both district councils since the Zone Leaders were in billings all week. In the afternoon we were going to have a lesson with this guy that we traced into, but he cancelled on us. In the evening my companion had to do a baptismal interview for a person who is getting baptized in the Zone Leaders area.
Saturday: We had ultimate Frisbee again in the morning with both of our wards. The missionaries from Stevensville and Lolo came as well. After that we went to move the piano we were originally going to move on Thursday. Then we went and set up and then attended the baptism of the guy my companion had to interview the previous day.
Sunday: We went to our normal 6 hours of church. Then we had a lesson. Then after dinner we had 2 more lessons.
And thus ends this week. Have a wonderful week everyone.
Peace and Love,
William Shears Campbell
