Hello beautiful people of Earth,

Monday:  We went to Great Falls for preperation day.  Afterwards we came back and visited a less active family and shared a message with them.

Tuesday:  We went shoveling in the morning because it has snowed again.  After that we worked on contacting people until dinner.  After that we tried visiting some less actives in the evening.

Wednesday:  We had district meeting which as always was followed by district lunch.  Then we tried to contact some people in Vaughn, and we got a couple lessons set up for next Wednesday.  In the evening we had a correlation meeting with our ward mission leader.

Thursday:  We worked to try new finding techniques which were semi successful.  Then dinner came and we went to the Cozy Corner which I’ve been wanting to try for a while.  So a couple weeks ago I mentioned the 2 families we tracted into in Fort Shaw that started to Bible bash us a bit.  Well the one that was a bit more intense owns the Cozy Corner, which we knew, and we fully expected to see him there.  We entered, sat down, and ordered our food and eventually it was served to us.  The food there was really good.  Then while we were eating the owner came and sat with us.  We talked about the crazy snow and what not, and then eventually he told us he was sure we were destined to meet again and he pulled out a familiar envelope.  So a few days ago, I got a card in the mail, and intended to take it home and keep it with all my other mail, however when I got to the house I couldn’t remember what I did with he card.  I looked all around for it, and then eventually figured it was gone forever…until the guy was holding the exact same card in his hand.  Aperently I had dropped it in the post office parking lot, and he found it and recognized the Elder title followed by my last name.  Anyway he returned the card to me and we scheduled a lunch visit with him next Sunday.  The next crazy thing is later that night we tracted into none other than the guy’s dad who said we could come to this Bible study class that they hold every Thursday

Friday:  We shoved peopled walkways in the morning and then tried to contact some people out in the country on the way to dinner.

Saturday:  We basically devoted the day to knocking doors around Fairfield.  We didn’t have too much success though.

Sunday:  We went to church in the morning, and then visited this older couple who gave us a bunch of referrals.  We visited a couple more members, and then went out to try the referrals.  Not many of them were home though.

That’s about all for this week.  The work in this area is slowly but surely growing.  I’m excited what the future has to bring.

Peace and Love,

William Shears Campbell

Hey Everybody,

Monday: We went to Great Falls for preperation day. I went with anther Elder to go hang out with this cool member in his ward.

Tuesday: We mainly did some contacting out in the fields in the bounds of Fairfield.

Wednesday: We went to Vaughn to go to a couple appointments that we had made the previous week. They all fell through though. We did a bit more contacting there for the rest of the day.

Thursday: We had Zone Conference. They gave us SMARTPHONES! We will now be able to see what emojis people text us. So no longer do we have the flip phones and the slide phones. In the evening we did some more contacting in Vaughn.

Friday: We had interviews with our mission president in the morning, then we did weekly planning. In the evening we visited a recent convert couple in Fairfield who had a few questions about the priesthood.

Saturday: We went to Augusta to do some finding. We ended up talking to a few people, one of which was an old guy who talked to us on his doorstep for like 30 minutes.

Sunday: We went to church in Sunriver, and then we had lunch with the owner of the guy that owns the Cozy Corner(the one that found my card in the post office parking lot). After that we went to do some finding in Simms. We waisted a returning less active family in the evening. The dad talked a bit about the family band that they have.

Anyway, that is about all. I love all of you.

William Shears Campbell

Pics

1. So last time I sent a pic of the Beatles Hot Wheels I got, I accidentally put the John car in the picture instead of the Sgt Pepper car, however here’s a correction photo.
2. This is a new one I found. It is not part of the Yellow Submarine set, but rather a movie themes car set.
3. All the Beatles Hot Wheels
4. Spring Plz
5&6. This sick Beatles clock that a member has. It plays Beatles songs(and also a John Lennon solo song) every hour. It doesn’t look very Beatley, but at the hour I heard it play Hey Jude , so I had to see it up close.
7. Also here’s a street I found called Denny Lane. It’s similar to Denny Laine, and it also kinda sounds like Penny Lane .

Also a couple weeks ago I had I think my first Beatles Bible dream. I’ll share it now before I forget again.

So my companion and I had met some guy in this cafe. He was a middle aged English man. Then somehow I figured out that he was @meanmistermustard Eventually I said “wait a second you’re Ron Nasty”(I used to mix RN and mmm a bit, so this is probably a subconscious runoff of that). Anyway I introduced myself as William Shears Campbell, and that’s about where the dream ended.

Hey All

Well there’s only one mpre week left in the transfer. If I keep with my streak, I’ll be out of here by the 1st.

Monday: We went to Great Falls to shop. After that we met some missionaries at the park and played Frisbee for a bit. Then we hung out at One of the missionaries apartments until we had to leave for dinner.

Tuesday: Early in the morning our district leader and his companion arrived to go on exchanges. I stayed in Fairfield with the district leader. During the day we went out into the country to visit some people who probably never get visited. We had a few people answer, but they weren’t interested. At dinner, the members feeding us gave us quite a few referrals which was good. At the end of the day, the district leader gave me some finding tips to help the area.

Wednesday: We went to district meeting and ended exchanges. After that we came back to Vaughn. We tried to tract out this one neighborhood, but these construction workers told us that we weren’t allowed to. We weren’t sure of the rules at the time so we just left in order to not get in trouble. We are now pretty sure that they were just trying to scare us away, so we will be going back. In the evening we helped a family move.

Thursday: We did weekly planning in the morning, where we planned out our week. Afterwards we saw this guy across from the church who was raking his leaves. We wanted to help him, but he told us he was almost done. We talked to him for a bit and he said we could come visit him again. After that we went to this Bible study class which was pretty fun. We studied Matthew 11:16-30. They asked us a bit about missionary work as well. Next week they are going to do a Hymn sing along. Then in the late afternoon we had house inspections, which quickly turned into operation “let’s finally fix the jammed front door so we can escape if the washing machine busts up in flames and also so we can get our couch in the house”. The climax of the operation was me kicking in the jammed door so that it was no longer jammed, and we could then put it back on in a way that would make it no longer jam. It turned a 45 minute inspection into an hour and a half. We were a tad bit late to dinner because of it. In the evening we went to the church and called some people we needed to set up lessons with.

Friday: We broke out the bikes because it was a nice hot day(60°F, yikes I used to think that was a bit chilly). It was so hot that we were sweating. We helped some members move chairs and tables back into the church building. We knocked on some doors around Fairfield most the rest of the day. We were able to talk to some people on the street.

Saturday: It’s was around 60ish°F again but it was wind, which made it colder. In the morning we helped a recent convert move hay and take down some fences in his corral. After that we went to this birthday party for this old lady in the ward. She’s 95 and she’s still super young and bouncy. After that we tried some more people in Fairfield. We went to visit an older couple in the ward and they gave us quite a few referrals.

Sunday: We went to church in the morning. After that we went to visit a less active family in Fairfield, and we also visited a member family in Fairfield. In the evening we went to this Priesthood fireside where the stake leaders discussed some of the new changes from conference.

I love you all and I hope you all have a wonderful week.

William Shears Campbell

Hey All,

So my transfer news is…I’m staying and my companion is staying.

Monday: We went to Great Falls for preperation day. We were going to go Frisbee golfing, but we ended up not having time, so we went to the church for basketball instead.

Tuesday: We tried a few people around town and then biked out 4 miles to dinner. So Fairfield farmers do this thing where they burn their fields before they plant new crops. This causes the air to be filled with smoke and dust during the spring. There are also many fire accidents that occur each year, as you could probably guess. At dinner, the neighbors aperently caught a haystack on fire, and the fire department had to come out to put it out. The bad part was that the haystack actually belonged to their neighbors. We biked back afterwards and went against the wind the whole time, which was pretty difficult.

Wednesday: We went out to Sun River and visited a refferal we got not long ago. Then we knocked some doors around Sun River. We picked up dinner at the church and then headed back to Fairfield. We checked out the boy scout activity in he church parking lot. They were flying kites. One of the boys was able to get their kite riding pretty high. It was probably a good mile up in the sky. It went almost over the whole church building. After that we contacted come people in Fairfield and called it a day.

Thursday: We had district meeting, where I gave a discussion on improvement, followed by the classic district lunch. Then we headed back into our area. We tried this lady we are working with in Vaughn, but she wasn’t home. We tracted a bit in this new neighborhood in Vaughn. Then we tried another referral we recently received. The wife answered the floor and said she had the flu, so we’ll have to come back another time. After that we went to dinner, and then visited this member family that used to house the missionaries. We shared a member lesson with them and left them with a prayer.

Friday: We tried contacting people around town, but not too many people were home. In the afternoon we went to make bread with an investigator who makes the bread for the sacrament. Then we headed out to dinner with a recent convert. We shared a lesson with them about member missionary work.

Saturday: We mostly tried to do a bit of finding around town in the morning. In the afternoon we helped an older couple rake leaves and pick up pine cones in their yard. Then we went to dinner. After dinner, the family insisted we play bocci ball, so we did. My companion and I lost by 2 points. Then we had a lesson with a recent convert couple, and answered some of their questions.

Sunday: We went to church in Sun River. After church we visited an investigator that lives just south of Sun River. He fixes up wrecked cars and sells them as a hobby. We visited a couple other investigators and then went to dinner. After dinner we headed back to Fairfield and visited an older man that lives in town.

That’s about all for this week. I love you all.

William Shears Campbell

Hey everybody,

This week marks 9 months on my mission. Boy time does fly by.

Monday: We went disc golfing in Great Falls during the day. In the evening we went to Power and tracted around a bit, then visited a member family.

Tuesday: We tired to contact some people around town, then we went to visit this older couple out in the country. They told us we could come back the next day to help them put up a couple gates. In the evening we visited a less active in Fairfield. He told us that he believed that faith was a way for church leaders to control their members. However faith can be turned into a knowledge when it it acted on.

Wednesday: In the morning we helped the old couple we visited the previous day put up a couple of gates. I got to use a power drill for like the 3rd time on my mission now. In the afternoon we helped this investigator rake grass clippings in her yard. After that we visited a couple of less actives on our way to dinner. After dinner we taught a lesson for the single adult family home evening at the church.

Thursday: We helped the investigator finish raking up the grass clippings. In the afternoon we went to the Bible Study class again. My companion and I were able to slip in a scripture from the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Book Of Mormon. We also brought up the Family Proclamation to the World, which they thought was pretty cool.

Friday: We did weekly planning during the day. At dinner I was able to share this book Book Of Mormon lesson with the family. After dinner we shared a message with this member family in Sun River. They have people live below their house, and one of them sat in for the message. He was interested in taking the lessons.

Saturday: We went tracting a bit around Fairfield. Not many people were in town due to a sports game that was out of town. We had a couple people answer though. We went to this members house in the evening. We were gonna tract their street on the way, but almost the whole street was outside wating chowawa races.

Sunday: We went to church in the mormong. Afterwards we went tracting around Fairfield again. In the evening we set up a few memeber lessons for the upcoming week.

Hello Everybody,

Happy belated mother’s day to all the mothers out there. Also Happy Birthday to Mother Shears Campbell tomorrow

Monday: We went to Great Falls for preperation day. In the evening we had the transfer dinner with the Stake Presidency. They invited us to share Elder Ballard’s “Write Down A Date” program with the members.

Tuesday: In the morning we went out towards Greenfield to help these members brand their calves. After that we returned to Fairfield where we got a call about a lady who had ordered a Book Of Mormon. She wanted it within the next couple days so that she could read it on her trip to Colorado. We dropped off the book, and then headed out towards Augusta for dinner. We did a bit of tracting, but didn’t have too much success.

Wednesday: We got up early to head out to Great Falls for zone conference. before we left town though, we picked up this Tagalog Book Of Mormon that this less active’s wife wants. Zone Conferece was pretty exciting. They talked a lot about President Nelson’s talk about receiving relegation for ourselves. It doesn’t matter who you are, you can receive revelation for yourself. If you have a question I encourage you to get down on your knees and earnestly ask your Heavenly Father, and then search and ponder the answer, and you will find it. At lunch one of my zone leaders hinted at the fact that I need to lose weight by saying that I looked about 20 pounds heavier that I was when I first got in the field. In the evening we visited some people in Vaugn and Sun River. Then we attempted to drop off the Tagalog Book Of Mormon, but they were not home.

Thursday: We knocked some doors in Fairfield that we had never knocked before. In the afternoon we were supposed to have the Bible study class, but aperently I was canceled, because no one showed up. In the evening we visited some people out in the country, then had a lesson with a recent convert couple in Fairfield. We gave them the write down a date challenge, and they seemed pretty excited about it.

Friday: We went down to Simms for the day. We visited a less active family and helped them move some stuff in their basement. Later we did some tracting and actually found a couple people. In the evening we went to the scout cake auction and my companion won a cake. Then we headed back to Fairfield and dropped off the Tagalog Book Of Mormon.

Saturday: We helped fill sand bags in the morning to help out with the flooding in Sun River. After that we went around Sun River and looked for people to help out. The flooding wasn’t really that bad, so there wasn’t anybody that needed much help. Despite the low flooding there was a news reporter there that exaggerated the flooding by filming the one spot where it flooded like 2 inches. He ended up interviewing us about the flood. After that we visited some people in Fairfield in the evening.

Sunday: We went to church as usual. It was mothers day, so all the talks were about moms. After that we had lunch over at a member’s house. Then we came back to the church and did some organizing of the area book. Then we had dinner and called our moms.

Thats about all for the week. Keep it classy everyone.

Peace and Love,

William Shears Campbell

Hey Everyone,

This week has been pretty quick. The weather went cold for a bit, but now it’s warming up again.

Monday: We went to Great Falls and got an oil change. We were gonna meet up with the other missionaries, but there was a miscommunication so we ended up not doing much. Afterwards we went to dinner with our ward mission leader in Fairfield.

Tuesday: In the morning the Zone Leaders came for exchanges. I went up to Great Falls with one of the Zone Leaders. The Zone Leaders had housing inspections, so we took care of that first. We had a few lessons scheduled, but most of them fell through. We had a lesson with an investigator and we set him on date to be baptized. We also visited a less active who had a really hot house. She had no A/C or fans, so we had the impression to get her one of the fans in the Fairfield apartment. In the evening we helped set up the special Olympics.

Wednesday: I woke up with a bad stomach ache. I was well enough to go to district meeting and be at least half mentally present. District lunch for me was sips of water and a bit of sprite. After we got back to Fairfield I rested the rest of the day.

Thursday: I was feeling better so we went out planning to visit some people. On exchanges my companion and the other zone leader found 5 potential investigators, so we were going to visit some of those. However on the way we saw some guy mowing his lawn and we offered to help him. He was a member who used to be in the Fairfield ward, but he moved down to Utah. Him and his wife had come back up to fix up the house so they could sell it. Also we later found out that he and his wife were in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir 13 years ago. After we helped him with the yard he took us out to lunch. After Lunch we had inspections. Then we had a lesson with one of the new potential investigators. We also found out one of the potential investigators wasn’t interested. I suppose you can’t win them all.

Friday: We helped this lady move some beds in her house. Then we headed down to Fort Shaw and did a bit of tracting there. We visited a less active member there. Then we went to a lesson in Vaugn that ended up canceling. We visited people for the rest of the day in Vaughn. In the evening we went visited this member family and they helped us weld some horseshoe decors. We didn’t do any of the actual welding, we just got the horseshoes out and set them up and then polished them at the end.

Saturday: We had another lesson with the guy we taught on Thursday. He seems to be pretty interested. He is now new investigator number 2. Later we did a bit of tracting around Fairfield. After dinner we followed up with a couple we challenged to do the set a date challenge. They picked October 19th. We explained in more depth what they had to do, and gave them some ideas.

Sunday: We went to church in Fairfield. Afterwards we had a visit with our new investigator. We brought a member with us and read some of the Book Of Mormon with him. After that we went to dinner, and then had a member lesson with a family our in the country.

That’s all for this week. I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Peace and Love

Also here’s some Beatley potato chips I found. It kinda looks like Paul and John both trying to be George.

Hello Friends,

Monday: We went up to the mountains near Augusta with our housing inspectors and another set of missionaries. In the evening we helped this lady put a couple of tires on her trailer.

Tuesday: We had a lesson with the investigator that we worked with last week, and we were able to put him on date to be baptized. We set a date for July 1st. We spent the rest of the day doing some more finding around Fairfield.

Wednesday: We had district meeting in the morning. Afterwards we did some tracting in Vaughn.

Thursday: We had another lesson with the investigator we put on date. He is working on quitting smoking. After that we tried tracting this apartment complex we’ve never tracted before.

Friday: In the morning we helped an older couple fix some curbing on their garden. We then headed up to Sun River and visited a few people. After that we helped an older couple in Vaughn prime a room for painting. We also helped fix their toilet. It involved me cutting a few corroded bolts with a hack-saw.

Saturday: In the morning we tried an investigator who we found in Simms a few weeks back. She said that she could meet with us probably in a couple weeks. After that we went to a funeral for this guy who got killed in a car crash. I didn’t ever meet him, but apparently he was a really cool guy, so that’s kind of sad.

Sunday: We went to church in Sun River. Afterwards we visited a couple of people in Sun River. Then we went to dinner at a graduation party for the Fairfield seniors. In the evening we visited a recent convert couple and helped them with family history so they could take some names to the temple.

That’s about all this week. I love you all.

Peace and Love

Also on Monday we stopped at a grocery in Augusta on the way to the mountains, and they played Across The Universe in the store.

Also I found these Hershey kisses that had a tie-dye wrapper…

…and the paper strip said “PEACE LOVE”.

Hello Everyone!

Today marks the first day of the last week in this transfer. Next Monday I will know whether or not I stay in the humble town of Fairfield.

Monday: We went up to Great Falls and played disc golf with the other Elder’s in the Great Falls area. After that we hung out at the zone leaders’ apartment until we had to go to Dinner. We had hamburgers for dinner.

Tuesday: We had district meeting in the morning. After that we had another lesson with the investigator who is on date for baptism. Later that day we visited some people out in the country, then we went do dinner. After dinner we helped this member work on training a couple of his horses. Then they fed us hamburgers.

Wednesday: We visited some people out on our way to Vaughn. We had dinner there and they fed us hamburgers. Then we helped with a ward service project where they worked to clean up trash on the side of the highway around the church.

Thursday: We went to help this member family chop and pack wood for their firewood business. After that we went back into town for dinner. They fed us hamburgers. Then we had another lesson with the investigator on date.

Friday: We did weekly planning in the morning. Then we visited some people out in the country north of Sun River for most of the rest of the day. After that we went to a third lesson with our investigator on date. He has a great desire to follow the gospel, but he is struggling with quitting smoking.

Saturday: We visited an investigators garage sale in the morning. Later on we visited a member family that has a son who is soon going on a mission. For dinner we cooked for a pancake dinner fundraiser at the Sun River church. I made sausages.

Sunday: It was fast Sunday so we went to church and listened to the testimonies of people in the congregation. After church we tried to visit a couple people, but they weren’t home. Then someone had put on our dinner calendar that dinner was at the seminary graduation, so we hitched a ride with a member family to Great Falls for the graduation. When we got there we were informed that there was no such dinner. We sat through the graduation, then returned home and made dinner. In the evening we visited this less active family. We had a good discussion with him about how we shouldn’t put limits on ourselves.

That’s about it for this week. I wish you all the best!

Peace and Love

William Shears Campbell

Also on Saturday I hit 10 months.

Apologies for the late posting, I have been without interweb the last few days…

Hello My Friends,

Transfer calls are in and I am going to Clinton Montana which is just outside of Missoula.

Monday: We went to Great Falls and everybody headed to this place called Ryan’s Island, which was by Ryan’s Dam. We played ultimate frisbee on the island and saw a bald eagle nest. In the evening we spent the night at the zone leaders’ apartment for interviews the next day.

Tuesday: We spent 90% of the day at the church waiting for interviews. We took a break for lunch and then waited until 4:30 for us and the district leader and his companion to finish so that we could do exchanges and blitz the area. It was our last interview with our president, since we will be getting a new mission president in July, so the interviews were extra long so we could say our goodbyes and get any last advice we desired. After interviews we went to dinner and then did a bit of finding. I went out with the district leader’s companion and we committed a guy to come to church.

Wednesday: We had district meeting and then finally made it back to Fairfield. It seemed like we had been gone for ever. We had a lesson with our progressing investigator and got him to commit to come to church again. We also found out that he straight up quit coffee and tea.

Thursday: We helped this family in Vaughn with their yard work for most of the morning, and then they fed us lunch. After that we planned for the upcoming week and then visited a guy at the assisted living center.

Friday: We had another lesson with our progressing investigator and reviewed the plan of salvation. He says he knows that what we are teaching him is true, but he doesn’t always remember everything. After that we visited a member family in Vaughn and shared a message with them. Then in the evening we visited another member family for a member lesson. We taught the Plan Of Salvation.

Saturday: We helped a lady in Sun River pack up and sort boxes for moving. After that we did some finding out in the country around Fort Shaw. In the evening we had dinner with our ward mission leader for Sun River, and his grandson was there. His grandson told us that he didn’t believe that anyone had any real proof that any religion was true. We shared a message about the Book Of Mormon and committed the kid to read it.

Sunday: We attended my last church meeting in this area. After church we did a bit of finding in Simms and tracted into a lady that had just moved into the area. She said we could come back the next day (or the day of this email’s composition). After that we come back to Fairfield and attended a baptism for a boy who recently turned 8. In the evening we visited a member couple in Fairfield and shared a message with them.

Well I am off to my 4th area Wednesday morning at 5 o’clock as the day begins (well it might not be five o’clock here, but it probably will be somewhere). It looks like I’m going to be closing side 2 in Clinton.

Before I close, I have three Beatley moments.

The first is a doorbell which was the tune of George’s “It’s Johnny’s Birthday ” which I know is kind of a parody of another song called Congratulations (although I’ve never heard the song)

The second was an email I received. It was a scam email that ended up in the spam box. It is the first spam email I’ve received my whole mission. The church email system usually does a good job of filtering out junk mail, but I guess this slipped through the cracks. Anyway it’s significance has do with it’s John Lennon references.

The third was a dream I had on Saturday night. Buckle your seat belts for this one. It was a pretty weird dream, but also would have been super cool if it was real

So we were in our trailer and I looked out the front door and saw a couple of darker cars parked next to each other in front of our driveway. One of the people in one of the cars was (present day) Ringo Starr . I got super excited (of course) and wanted to get closer. However Ringo hopped from the car he was in, to the other car (kinda similar to that scene in the beginning of A Hard Day’s Night where the lads hop cars) which drove away. Then some kid I knew from school popped out of the window of the car that was still parked. I recognized her and asked her how she knew Ringo Starr . She said something about how she was a skilled runner (which this person never did any running sports, at least to my knowledge) and so she was famous and knew Ringo Starr . Then my companion was nagging me to come back inside the house, so I just looked at her and said sternly “We’ll talk about this later,” and came back in.

Then a time jump and we were in one of the towns in our area (I think it was Simms). We were walking around the town and saw a cedar house (that kinda resembled this cedar house in Fairfield, but the upper part was more modern looking). There was a big window that looked into the living room with full view of the TV (Just like the house from Fairfield). On the TV was some footage of Ringo Starr . The couch was against the window and 3 people were sitting on it watching the TV. The middle person turned his head to look out the window and it was Ringo Starr who was not wearing his sun glasses. I took a picture of him looking out the window because I thought it would be a sick picture for my weekly.

Then we walked around the corner but then came back, and the cedar house was replaced by a set of wooden bleachers with a band (like a winds band). There were a bunch of people including Ringo and his All Starr Band were watching it. I was able to get a better picture of Ringo Starr . Then the band finished playing and Ringo came up to me and said, “So you’re the one who’s been taking pictures of me”. Then we started talking. I asked him why he was in Montana, and he said that he lived here. Then I had my companion take a picture of us (of course). Then Ringo walked a bit away and dissappeared, then he reappeared and had a chocolate shake with whipped cream and chocolate chips on top in one of those old malt shop glasses and he gave it to me. I was about to drink the shake, but then I woke up a bit disappointed that it was all a dream.

Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Peace and Love,

William Shears Campbell
