Talking Heads is great and nearly invariably must be turned up, one of these days I’ve gotta watch the whole Stop Making Sense film.
… And then QuarryMan said, interrupting the thread
You definitely should! It’s such a great film, and I think I prefer the live versions of most of the songs there. It doesn’t have a film, but “The Name of This Band is Talking Heads” is also excellent. Great albums both to put on whilst pottering about the house and doing odd jobs.

Beatlebug, lovelyritametermaid, vonbonteeI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

^must try that too sometime. I do a fair bit of house-pottering.

Next up, one of my favourite ballads from the Rhinestone Cowboy:
[Glen Campbell – “It’s Over”]
Keep it where it is or maybe half a notch up. Pleasant to the ear, nice descending chord progression, but it doesn’t demand my attention enough to be much louder.
Next up, a sonic departure for the absolute workaholic prog master Steven Wilson:

Turn Lightnin’ Hopkins way upUPUP. Nice sly vocal, and I especially like that scrambly soloing style he has.
(“Personal Shopper” I liked well enough, so long as that electro dance pulse is maintained (spoken bits kinda silly, though.) And of course, those fried-wire guitar tones…Turn it up, then down, then way up!)
OK, another epic

Yes, it’s crazy how some quality UK bands of that period never could duplicate their successes abroad. (Pretty Things were another one)…Anyways, turn “Blackberry Way” up – it’s got a very particular sound for a very particular moment.
I’m still in the midst of binging my chronological way through Stevie Wonder’s discography, and I’m a little surprised he waited until 1970 to record his first Beatles cover (and an eccentric song choice it is, too)

Don’t judge this book by its cover. It won’t be what you expect.
Wow, you’re right – I certainly wasn’t expecting such a catchy, tuneful Badfinger- type thing! Very nice, that…and I was prepared to hate it just on principle, since Simmons is such a jerk. (And my favourite “Kiss” album is Ace‘s solo, anyways.) Turn “See You Tonight” up.
Here’s mine. For context…https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/…..e_Trombley
