Wow @ Paul giving Linda what seems like a Harrisong arrangement, with all those gently strummed (and slid) guitars! Linda’s vocal is admirable, unaffected and plainly pretty, like the lady herself, and the tune is nice.
Agreed! I’m very fond of it. I have to say it also gave me slight Richard Wright vibes, like something from his (very mellow) 1978 solo album Wet Dream. It’s like the perfect blend of Wings and Floyd
Sorry about the new page, lads, carry on

Hmmm, keep that where it is.
This is Gza from the Wu Tang Clan. I love the way he gets so many famous people’s names into the song. It’s called Fame:
Still writing the words to the sermon that no one will hear......

Lyrics are very clever, all those puns. (I’d have to consult a lyric sheet to see how many celebs namechecks I missed…) GZAs voice and delivery are strong too, so it’s unfortunate that the beats and music overall just lie there, neither swinging nor funky nor slamming enough to make me really sit up and listen. I’ll turn it up 1/2 for its lyrics.

Didn’t care for that at all, I’m afraid; too slow, and no hooks. Turn it down.
Something kinda “Dear Prudence “-ish about this track:

Well, I’m not much of a fan. Even when I was in my peak English-prog phase around 1985, I ranked them below Crimson, Yes, Floyd, Tull, even ELP. But I did enjoy “Lamb” and their live album, on which a version of “Musical Box” appears. As for this studio take (not much different), I like the heavy Deep Purplish bits the best. Turn it up once they kick in.

Turn it down, sorry. Just can’t get past that sound quality — it hurts my ears.

Truly sorry, BB – you’ve got superb ears and I dont wanna hurt em! But I DO wanna interject that the entire T.heads performance is AMAZING with a capital zing! That expanded band always looked so happy to be playing together…anyways, sorry 4 interrupturing, carry on with “Only Child”

Haha, thanks I’ve always been quite sensitive to loud/harsh/trebly sounds. Talking Heads is great and nearly invariably must be turned up, one of these days I’ve gotta watch the whole Stop Making Sense film.
Beatlebug put forth, turn this up or down
