Turn it up. Lovely moody piece, fabulous atmosphere, and I like the way it builds up. Also, the vocals remind me very strongly of Thom Yorke of Radiohead.
Been playing this on repeat for like half an hour now, it’s such a groovalicious track:

From the unexpected rhythmic accents and shifts to the woozy whammy bar abuse and the slithery vocal, this track is pure abrasion. Far from the elegant orchestrations of their middle period, this time all the parts grind against one another, with no interest in melody: The dark night of the Led Zeppelin soul. Turn it up 1,976 notches.
In honour of WSCs impending reemergence, here’s something he likes

I’ll keep it where it is. I do need to ‘get up around seven, go to bed around nine, I don’t worry about nothin’ cause worryin’s a waste of my time’.

’90s, sure, but it suggests the 60s, too, with Beatles and slinky adult-pop flourishes. Why, it could almost pass for one of the boys’ many celebrated James Bond themes! Also, I like how the musically unresolved ending suggests a mantis being decapitated. Turn it up.

That groove grabs you from the opening, with those congas and flanged guitars; it’d make a fine single no matter who the singer/auteur was. 1976 was a pretty great year for radio. Turn up aplenty.

That’s “Golden Years”. As for Shamrock’s contribution, the singer unfortunately evokes memories of the Crash Test Dummies. Turn it down.
(Also, I didn’t mean to thank my own post! )
Sorry to interrupt…back to “How Bizarre”

I used to own that GBV album for awhile in the late 90s, haven’t heard it since. Love the lo-fi sound and “heroic” guitar drone. Dunno what to make of the lyric. ..Turn it up please.
