I was hoping for it to be a cover of The Beach Boys song, but instead it’s a cover of the song of the same name by the group Them from a few years earlier. I like the original version of that song too, and it actually isn’t too bad with an 80s sound! Turn Up!

xpost: Huh, never woulda thought there were any other current biblers with Streetheart-awareness. (Streetheart-smart!)
As for the Le Orme track, I listened to the whole thing assuming it was The Nice, because they did a version of that piece too, and also because I yam illiterate. I enjoy The Nice’s interpretation more (features some glorious fuzzy guitar noise alongside the organ heroics), but this is still a cool rendition of a cool composition, so turn it UP!

@vonbontee my parents really like Streetheart; they’ve seen them on one or more occasions and have met them. I like their version of Here Comes the Night a little better than the original; I think it’s got a better flow to it.
Re SG: Turn it up! That’s actually quite nice!
Another cover that I this is better than the original:

Not my favourite version but still a fine rendition of a first-rate song (the original of which I posted here just a few months ago!) Fabulous video too. Turn it up (and view on a large screen!)

Nighttrain slide-guitar parts quite Harrisonesque up there…as for Portishead, that’s another album I haven’t listened to in 20+ years. Wasn’t really my sort of thing, but fairly enjoyable on its own terms, and certainly interesting/innovative. I like the mix of Beth’s subdued vocal with the stoned hiphop backing, but minus the singing, like during the extended outro, the track is too slow and undynamic on its own. Turn it up 3/4 of a notch. (“Glory Box” and a coupla other “Dummy” tracks, I’d say turn up at least TWO!)

I like it. It takes a little bit too long to begin with the song proper, so maybe only up to 6 or 7, not 11. That synth solo at the end though…

Not a bad song, but where’s the GUITAR?! I expected young Peter Frampton’s old band to feature some triple-pickup black Les Paul heroics, and instead we get loopy piano! Oh well, turn it up some anyways.
Turning this one down will definitely earn a stinkeye from me! (LOL I used to actually live in Sudbury)

Apologies @vonbontee but I’ll be turning that one down, it’s what I would call ‘aye, me dog died and me banjo is broke’ sort of a song. Country isn’t my favourite genre, and this is too close to that.
And while his voice is mildly charming, it’s slightly more than mildly irritating. Hopefully @Von Bontee won’t hate me…
