Forevermore a classic, and one of the first several songs 16-year old VB heard on his brand new portable radio-cassette player! Turn up. (Wonder if Dave Stewart or the director had the “Blue Jay Way ” video on his mind wrt those cello bits in the video?)

No… keep it where it is. Interesting lyrics and other sounds but just a bit annoying.
Does anybody remember laughter?

Inevitably, I guess, turn it up. I’m often kinda indifferent to live versions of STH because the studio versh is definitive and Plant often sounds (to me) kinda bored at having to sing all those words with little opportunity to do much ad-libbing, plus the extra bit at the end always felt like an awkward anticlimax -song’s meant to end with silence and Side One of Zep IV being turned over. But Jimmy’s improvising on that immaculate solo always fascinates. Plus the visuals are cool. So, up.
(BATTERY DYING! THIS POST TO BE CONTINUED IN 15 MINUTES OR SO…)

Pavement were rarely as noisy or weird or angular as I would’ve liked (at least not on the few recs of theirs I heard) but the guitars got a BIT aggressive towards the end, so I’ll request it be turned up 0.3 notches.
Here’s a band that sounded the way I WISHED Pavement sounded:
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Not the best of the Texas Outlaws, but he was up there, so up a notch or two.
The best of the Texas Outlaws? A musical moment from the great, much missed, Bill Hicks…
