Correct me if I’m wrong, but is that not slightly overweight?

Depends on height.

Well, if you go by Body Mass Index, but BMI is a pretty notoriously flawed system.

“6. It is lying by scientific authority.

Because the BMI is a single number between 1 and 100 (like a percentage) that comes from a mathematical formula, it carries an air of scientific authority. But it is mathematical snake oil.”

Why does using a single number and a mathematical formula make the BMI snake oil?

Bodybuilders. They have lots of muscle and not a lot of fat, but of course they still weigh a lot, thus have a high BMI, when they are very fit. In short, it doesn’t take into account muscle.

Fact #1: The plural of mongoose is mongooses. Mongeese is technically acceptable, but is far more rare.

Fact #2: According to the Almighty Wikipedia:

Mark Arm, the vocalist for the Seattle band Green River—and laterMudhoney—is generally credited as being the first to use the term grunge to describe [grunge rock]. Arm first used the term in 1981, when he wrote a letter under his given name Mark McLaughlin to the Seattle zine Desperate Times, criticizing his own band Mr. Epp and the Calculations as “Pure grunge! Pure noise! Pure s**t!”

It is. Point 6 says it is mathematically unreliable. This is because it doesn’t take into account other variables (i.e. Muscle).

From the official History Channel website:

Superman lives and works in the fictional city of Metropolis, which, by chance, is the name of a small town in southern Illinois. In 1972, with the support of both DC Comics and the state House of Representatives, Metropolis, Illinois, began calling itself the hometown of Superman. In honor of Clark Kent’s employer, the Daily Planet, the newspaper there even changed its name to the Metropolis Planet. Though a planned Superman theme park fell through, Metropolis continues to embrace the Man of Steel. Its police officers wear Superman emblems on their sleeves, a 15-foot bronze Superman statue stands outside the courthouse, a museum displays Superman memorabilia and a Superman festival takes places every June.

Barry White’s last words were “Leave me alone. I’m fine.”

Jack Daniels’ last words were “One last drink, please.”

If you don’t pay your tv license fee in the UK, you can get fined. If you don’t pay the fine, you go to jail.

Maybe commercials aren’t so bad after all?

I happily pay my license fee as I detest adverts. 10 minutes into a programme, just as you’re getting settled, it’s off to look at new toilet roll, sanitary towels and goodness knows how much other crap I don’t want.

Well I’ve seen hour and a half movies turned into 3 hours. It’ll be like after every 5 minutes of movie there’s like 5 minutes of commercials.

Never seen anything turned into 3 hours using commercial.

Except for when the whole show was just commercials.

The last known words of Walt Disney were “Kurt Russell,” written on a piece of paper. Nobody knows what he meant by it, including Kurt Russell.

TIL: In the movie “Grease” (1978) Stockard Channing’s character Rizzo shows off a hickey on her neck. They’re real. Her co-star Jeff Conaway, who played Kenickie (“a hickey from Kenickie is like a Hallmark card!”) wanted it to look authentic so he gave her one.

Erasers take off ringwear. (On white record jackets ONLY. On dark colours, it just takes everything off.)
I just cleaned up my copy of Beatles VI with an eraser.
