After doing it for most of Revolver , Paul preferred overdubbing his bass then playing it on the backing track, which in turn makes the bass more present in his 1966-1970 efforts. It really shows, as on the Let It Be album, the only songs that have Paul’s bass on them are (going by Joe’s instrumentation) the songs played on the rooftop, I Me Mine , and Let It Be , with the only songs on the album that was recorded during the Let It Be sessions being the ones recorded live on the rooftop (I Me Mine and Let It Be had their bass parts recorded during January during the Threetles sessions). Two Of Us and Maggie Mae both avoid the bass by having George play the bassline on his Tele, Across The Universe flat out doesn’t have it nor need it, Dig It and The Long And Winding Road have John on the 6 string bass while Paul plays piano, and For You Blue has Paul play the bass part on the piano. What a coincidence, as Let It Be was originally not supposed to have overdubs, so Paul must’ve said “If I can’t overdub my bass and not play it on the backing track, then f*** you, I’m not playing bass on any of these songs except for the ones we’re recording live”.
Maybe you should try posting more.

I was playing the Bábóg Baby interactive yoke a ma bob today. I’ve always wanted to get one because it is the cutest thing known to mankind (it’s a teddy bear that is available in 4 languages, Irish, English, Scottish Gaelic and Welsh, and he says the different colours, shapes and numbers from 1-10 in their respective language).
Normally Celtic language speakers- i.e. Irish, Scottish Gaelic and Manx (not so much Welsh) can understand each other pretty well because many words are very similar to each other, just a silently different pronunciation and spelling. Well here is where we meet the dreaded word ‘glas’. Now as an Irish speaker, I consider ‘glas’ to be ‘green’ but oh no not the other Celtic languages!
Glas in Irish is ‘Green’
Glas in Scottish Gaelic is ‘Grey’
Glas in Welsh is ‘Blue’
And Manx being the only sensible one considers ‘Glass’ (as they spell it) to be green, as it rightly is .
Lord forbid you ever have to talk to a salesperson about buying a car in a different language an Irish person could ask for a green car and end up getting a blue one from a Welsh person.

Somewhere on the Lego Yellow Submarine , I believe on one of the interior clocks or dials, is the date “18 October”: it is the birthday of the designer of the Lego Yellow Submarine .
@Joe maybe an interesting detail for your article.

I learned today… Lemmy Kilmeister’s view vis-a-vis The Beatles vs. The Rolling Stones (from “White Line Fever: The Autobiography by Lemmy Kilmister”)
“…the Beatles were hard men too. Brian Epstein cleaned them up for mass consumption, but they were anything but sissies. They were from Liverpool, which is like Hamburg or Norfolk, Virginia–a hard, sea-farin’ town, all these dockers and sailors around all the time who would beat the piss out of you if you so much as winked at them. Ringo’s from the Dingle, which is like the f*****g Bronx. The Rolling Stones were the mummy’s boys–they were all college students from the outskirts of London. They went to starve in London, but it was by choice, to give themselves some sort of aura of disrespectability. I did like the Stones, but they were never anywhere near the Beatles–not for humour, not for originality, not for songs, not for presentation. All they had was Mick Jagger dancing about. Fair enough, the Stones made great records, but they were always s**t on stage, whereas the Beatles were the gear.”

That wasn’t intentional, though. It’s just a coincidence.

To be fair young Axl Rose aesthetically-speaking was a babe, personality of an a*****e though so I still view him as a dickhead despite his good looks.
