We are animals just like all the rest, we’re not plants or rocks. Ants are just as prosperous as us, just in a different way.

My own thought is if you go into ostrich territory you deserve to be eaten or attacked. Humans are the problem. Hate how people think they can walk near to an animal in he wild and if it attacks them it deserves to die; am very much on the other side of no you deserve to get eaten, beaten whatever.
But say you’re not even close to a wild animal in its territory and it kills you, would that animal still not deserve to die? If someone is stupid enough to go waltzing up to an animal and not expect to get eaten then they deserve it. But if a wild animal invades human territory and kills someone, would the animal still be free to live?

I think it depends on what you think should be done if a human invades another humans territory and kills someone.

If ostriches can’t protect themselves from humans then they deserve to die, isn’t that what “survival of the fittest” means? If we humans wouldn’t be able to “take” an ostrich in the wild why are purses and pillows still made from ostriches? Humans are superior to animals because we have the brains and the know-how to make things and provide a better life for ourselves. If animals could do that…
So you’re saying that any being that can’t protect itself against another being deserves to die? So you think those in the holocaust deserved to die because if they didn’t they would have been able to protect themselves and save their own lives? That’s faulty logic right there. Purses and pillows are not made in the wild. They are made in factories where humans hide themselves behind machines and large weapons. That is not nature. Also, HUMANS ARE ANIMALS so I don’t know why you’re implying that we’re not. And who says other species of animals do t make good lives for themselves? What a good life is to a human is different than what a good life is for an ostrich or an orca. Just because their lives don’t seem “good” to you doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy their lives.

No, I was just wondering what definition of survival of the fittest you were using, because survival of the fittest literally means kill or be killed.
We are animals but we’re advanced enough to build things that make life easier. Do you think if an ant could build a machine to take care of the Queen Ant’s eggs it wouldn’t build it?
Animals have their lives like they are because they don’t know how to change them. Animals also don’t have the scope of emotions that humans have so they probably don’t think of their lives as happy, sad, or miserable. Humans can change their lives to fit in a certain situation, animals can’t.

Ya animals can cause 1. we’re animals, 2. if Animals can’t change their situation than animal life would of gone extinct. Ants, mice, weeds and other forms of life have learned to adapt to humans buildings and have learned to thrive among us. If they never changed their lives, they wouldn’t of adapted.

Great story! Do you know when and where it was? We could find it on Joe’s timeline if we know a little more about it. Or one of our Forum historians could undoubtedly pinpoint it. Were the lads saying hello to your mother or were they greeting the woman who led them in? Was the fifth guy Brian? Mal? This is too good not to know more about.

It was in London because my mother is from London, I must ask her what area when I am out there tomorrow. She said they said hello to her but it was George that said the Hello Little Girl . Mum thinks the woman at the door was an employee at the cinema. I am going to get every last detail from her tomorrow

Not everything in the world can be made better with the use of a machine, so no, I don’t think aunts would want a machine to take care of their developing babies. Babies don’t need to be taken care of by machines, they need love. Even if they’re not born yet.
Animals have their lives like they are because they don’t know how to change them. Animals also don’t have the scope of emotions that humans have so they probably don’t think of their lives as happy, sad, or miserable.
How would you know that other animals don’t have the scope of emotions that humans have? There are many other animals that have brains just as developed as human brains. We don’t know how or what they feel because they don’t speak our language. You also used the word “probably,” so basically you’re just making things us to strengthen your argument.

Foxes make high pitched squeaking noises to communicate. I only learned this because there’s been a fox wandering around my neighborhood for a good few weeks, and I suddenly heard high pitched noises at 6 in the morning coming from the direction the fox was. Yes, I saw the fox as well, multiple times, actually

No, as you said we don’t have proof of animals having a lowers scope of emotions than humans (but there are a lot of facts that they don’t) So my use of probably was to say that it might not be true.
Ants aren’t raised on love. Ants are raised to be workers or to be the next queen, not be loved or provided for.

Prairie dogs have a language, they have different noises for different things like a noise for a human vs a dog. It’s really cool and other animals communicate with lights, color, dancing, smelling and a whole host of other ways. Heck even plants communicate with their root system and with airborne chemicals.

They all provide for each other, you can’t deny that. You can’t say they don’t love each other because you don’t know. Nobody knows. And none of the “facts” we have about the brains of other species are necessarily true. It was a known “fact” up until recently that lobsters don’t have the ability to feel pain because their brains are too small. Well guess what, lobsters do feel pain. We are still learning about the brains of animals, and it’s hard to really know anything about a species we have limited ability to communicate with.

Ooooh! Fox facts!
When we lived in Maine, we once saw a fox in our back yard that was jumping into the air and diving head first into the snow. We thought the poor thing had lost its marbles or was rabid or both. Turns out, that’s a method they use to hunt.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

I have learned today that life is what you make it, it is a positive attitude that gives you that lift and drive. You let things get you down and your aura will show that.
As someone who has struggled with mental health issues much of my life because of childhood sexual, physical and mental abuse, I believe that is rather simplistic. Sometimes the cards you are dealt make life very difficult. Scars run deep.

I have gone through a lot too but I realised I was the reason I was not moving forward.
