A nickname for Boston is “The Hub”. Imagine having a conversation with someone and they refer to Boston as that….“Hey, where do you live?”
“The hub”
“Where?”
“……..Boston………”
“oh…….”
After consulting a Bostonian, I can conclude that it isn’t used often and it means down town Bostan more.

I’ve been a Potter fan since I was three and I never knew that- now I feel kinda stupid.
Unfortunately he didn’t live to be in his 600s nor was he friends with Dumbledore….at least, as far as we know… >.>
And apparently he was also mentioned in the Da Vinchi Code book, 11 year old me didn’t pick up on that when I was reading it.

Aye, I seem to remember hearing of him, and not in Harry Potter either. I think it was a series about alchemy which I checked out but didn’t read. Ahhh, here ’tis. ‘The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel‘ and it says it was written by an Irish author.
Today I learned a lot of stuff about Roald Dahl which I didn’t really need to know to enjoy his books but it was interesting anyway.

The US-owned, uninhabited Baker Island is the last place on earth to enter the new year. Samoa is the last inhabited place to celebrate the new year.

If @Mr. Kite was still active, I’m sure he would say that Pattie is a kilohellen.

Mr. Kite, NeckoI say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

Would that mean that Pattie lanches 1,000,000 ships?

I learnt that when the rain comes it falls down, not only on your head, but all over the place making great big puddles which soak your sneakers.

I learnt that Day Tripper is an excellent song to tune one’s guitar to, as the very opening note is that great big E… and you can go from there.

I learned that Shakespeare’s The Tempest is considered his last play even though he co-wrote another play.
