People in my school get the 50’s and 80’s confused

HOW. HOW DO YOU DO THAT?

Also, a bunch of people thought they still rode in horse-driven carriages in the 50’s. Again, HOW?

^^ Very, very sad. ahdn_george_07

Perhaps they all watched Back To The Future without realising there was time-travel involved? a-hard-days-night-paul-10

I remember my teacher mentioning Back To The Future a couple of times. I’m pretty sure most of the kids thought it was the 60’s….

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8a-hard-days-night-ringo-13a-hard-days-night-ringo-14 How old are these people who thought that? Do their parents/grandparents not give them a long and boring history of those days (that you appreciate years later at an uncomfortable level)?

Today is Beethoven’s 245th birthday. I thought it was yesterday, but Google is always right. If you go on the homepage you can put his music in the correct segments and play it. Very entertaining.

The Beethoven Google doodle is really enjoyable. I’m going to hunt down some of my father’s Beethoven CD’s and give them a play tomorrow as would like to hear more. Shame the movie sucked. Not once did you hear Ode To Joy.

^ and ^^

Yes, as noted in other threads it really made my day as he is one of my 2 or 3 favourite composers (along with Mozart and Mahler) and my 86!! CD box of his works arrived from Amazon France a few days before the Google doodle hit. I had just been listening to the 5th from the box to compare it with my other versions.

My brother genuinely believes that (get ready for this) Satan took his soul when he was 1. I also learned he believes Santa and Satan is the same person.

Santa – Old fat man sneaks into kids rooms on the proviso that if they are good they will get a “present” – all without their parents knowing he’s there. Any other day folk would be chasing him with pitchforks and shotguns. Plus he spends most of the year on his own, away from people with only reindeer and kid-sized adults for company.

Santa Claus has been alive for 200+ years and he smokes? Doctors should study him. He may hold the key to immortality.

I learned that Amazon needs a better atlas because they seem to think that Bedfordshire is on the way from France to Australia.

Probably related to Easy Jet who think that a hotel 34 miles inland is next to the beach.

I learned that Paul was made a honorary member of the local Liverpool FC when he came to Uruguay in 2013. It’s not that surprising, considering the club was in fact named after the Liverpool FC from Liverpool, and it makes more sense than making Hugh Jackman and Wolverine honorary members, like Nacional did some years ago a-hard-days-night-paul-7.
