It would be very neat and tidy tho, bookending both together.

You don’t strike me as the neat and tidy type. So that’s something I’ve learned today.

Drawing a guitar on the sheet of paper next to the patient’s chair in the orthodontist’s office is a great conversation starter.

After listening to a lot of interviews today while doing work and whatnot, I realised that all of The Beatles said “you know?” a lot.

Paul was the worst in that nearly every sentence ends in “you know?” with John and George each saying “you know?” after every second or third sentence. Ringo doesn’t say it that much compared to the others, you know?

Now everyone go look up Beatles’ interviews and count how many times they say “you know?”

This must have been “a thing” in Britain in the 60s, because “I know” that my brother and I used to say it a lot “you know”?

I know, right? ahdn_paul_01

Funnily enough, while I can’t abide it in most people, I don’t mind it much when the Fabs say it. I suppose I’m just a happy little Beatles fan. beatlemaniacs_02_gif heart

There’s lots of Wikipedia articles that are legit just one sentence. You’ll probably find most of them through that strange “random article” button.

I believe they call those stubs.

Speaking of Wikipedia and the random article feature, here’s a fun thing to try:

1. Press the Random Article thing.

2. Click the first linked article not included in parentheses, not italicized and not in the disambiguation section.

3. Repeat.

No matter where you start, you will always eventually get to the article for philosophy.

Since every first sentence is usually some kind of definition that is linked, all you’re doing is drilling down through meanings until you get to the science of meanings itself which is philosophy. I guess that’s a win for WP’s logical organization if nothing else.

@AppleScruffJunior Well, it’s not like back then they had the training of public speaking. It’s more real, which makes the interviews even more enjoyable. Today a lot of people say the world “like” whenever they’re impromptu speaking to a larger group of people.

Only music can save us.

I can’t take credit for discovering this. I read about it on some other website. I believe it was included in a Photoplasty list on Cracked.com, but I don’t remember what the topic was.

Today I learned the first English-Irish dictionary was written by a man with the surname ‘MacCurtin’ in 1732- what a silly name.

Also it was published in Paris, I’m sure there was much demand for an Irish-English dictionary in France a-hard-days-night-ringo-2

That it’s not a good time of year to pop down the shop when the kids are getting out of school and you have a big, bushy (mainly) white beard.

Lots of shouts of “Hey, Santa, have I been naughty or nice?”

And that was just the mothers!!! You shoulda heard the kids!!!

I learnt from another thread that Shostakovich on an album cover looks even more serious than Karl Bohm, which is pretty impressive.
