Dresses make a lot of sense in hot places, though. Cool and breezy. Though of course they call them kurtas and kaftans and whatnot.

I didn’t learn this today but……

Now it’s thanks to dresses that in the quintessentially English game of cricket we have bowlers that charge down the field bowling balls overarm at nearly 100mph.

When the game was first invented balls were delivered underarm……When women took the game up they couldn’t bowl underarm because their voluminous dresses hampered them…..So they lobbed the ball overarm………It caught on.

Owszat!!!

And it’s taken more than 100 years for women’s cricket to come back into the spotlight again…

Another interesting thing I learned recently about cricket is if India were to stop funding the ICC, cricket would likely stop all around the world…

And the Beatles were named so because John thought Buddy Holly’s group were a pun on double meanings…….He found out later they’d never heard of Cricket the game.

Y’all…! You’re not thinking, this argument is pointless… you just wear dresses WITH shorts/pants! Problem solved! mccartney-shrug_01_gif

But then why even bother wearing a dress if you’re wearing shorts under it, at that point you mind as well just wear the shorts.

If you're reading this, you are looking for something to do.

That the word, ‘hypocrite’ came first into English with it’s original greek meaning………Right up until the 18th century in England the word hypocrite meant ‘actor’

I learned how to properly use parentheses on my calculator. It makes math a lot better paul-mccartney-thumb_gif (and I feel like an idiot for not figuring it out sooner, but hey, that’s life)

Edit: I just noticed my post count. I’m sad I missed George’s birthyear, but this is a pretty good year for music. And moptops.

Oh God don’t mention GMRTBS, it gives me mild PTSD symptoms. If Paul ever gets too big for his boots and talks about all he touches turns to gold, we can very easily shut him up by showing him 30 seconds of GMRTBS.

GMRTBS is a strange one as even when Paul was talking about it before it was released it sounded dreadful (0:48 onwards here – I don’t get the criticism over Paul in that interview; he is obviously nervous, as is Linda, but he interacts well and jokes around).
