If you cut a liver into pieces, each piece will grow back into a full sized liver.

Tangerine‘ by Led Zeppelin. It’s actually fairly easy to play (except that it’s tuned a half-step down a-hard-days-night-paul-3) and one of the few Zepp tunes that it’s not impossible to play and sing simultaneously.

The NBC peacock logo was largely a ploy to sell color TVs. NBC was owned by RCA, who were one of the first companies to sell color TVs.

If you were to write the largest known prime number in a straight line, you would need a sheet of paper that is twenty-three miles (thirty-seven kilometers) long.

How big are the numbers? I could make 2 (the smallest prime) have a diameter of 37km, and still make it legible (from space)

This isn’t so much a thing I learned as much as something I never noticed.

In The Dark Knight Rises (2012), when Bruce Wayne is looking at info about Catwoman on the Batcomputer, a newspaper article about her misspells heist in the headline.

In the UK:

From 5th May 1963 thru to 11th April 1965 only The Beatles and The Rolling Stones had number one albums. Bob Dylan’s ‘Freewheelin’ broke the run.

The Beatles had the number one album for 80 weeks out of 95 (5th May 1963 to 28th February 1965).

In 1964 there were four number one albums, three were by The Beatles.

(the source being Wiki, Record Retailer the chart (other charts did exist)).

That’s insane.

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8 I always remember my shock and awe back in the ’80s when, reading Neville Stannard’s discography of them (very good for chart details), The Long And Winding Road , that with With The Beatles  following Please Please Me  to #1, they got to 51 weeks topping the album chart before the Stones butted in and stopped them having a whole year uninterrupted. That 51 of the 80 weeks you cite, @meanmistermustard, were consecutive is one helluva a beginning to their album career! Just a shame the Stones couldn’t wait one more week…

TIL: Corey Feldman was the voice of Copper, the hound dog puppy in Disney’s The Fox and the Hound.

Courtesy of his memoir Coreyography. I hate that title, btw.

Sister Sledge performed for Pope Francis in 2015.

They missed a massive opportunity in that they should have performed ‘Frankie’ instead of ‘We Are Family’.

Was attempting to learn a bit of ‘Little Wing’ by Jimi Hendrix yesterday. I love how it starts out like some guy randomly noodling in a guitar shop, and magically condenses into a quite proper song.

A theory goes that Donald Duck had four nephews not three; Huey, Dewey, Louie and Phooey.

The above picture no doubt shows the moment Donald finds out.

Or maybe not.
