When you open a file in Audacity, copy it, then reverse the copied file, and finally press the play button to listen to what you’ve created you will hear… Nothing! Because the original part and the reversed part cancel each other out!
I know it’s not a major insight and in the end, it’s only logical and I could’ve inferred that earlier but when I discovered this by accident last night while fiddling around with Audacity I was really fascinated.

If you reverse it, it will sound like a mass of sound. Did you mean invert? That creates nothing.

Oops, yes, that’s what I meant, invert! Sorry!
Another thing I learned today: the word ‘artsy-fartsy’ and its meaning. This helped me to finally realise what an ingenious, multiple word-play @SgtPeppersBulldog arts thread really is! (Belated) kudos!

There are four countries on earth that have national anthems with no official lyrics. These countries are Spain, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Kosovo, and San Marino.

And Greece’s national anthem has 158 verses.

I know.
I bet it’s like the American national anthem, though. The Star-Spangled Banner technically has four verses, but most Americans only know the first verse.

Imagine the overdue fees on a tablet or papyrus scroll. Yikes.

After losing all of my sleep to this I found out that Steve Irwin is also afraid of parrots, any non-human who can speak English is creepy as hell especially if they bite.
Another fun fact I learned is that the first heavy metal song played on MTV was Iron Maiden from the band of the same name.

This may sound a tad crazy but after I installed Opera on my brother’s computer and decked it out (private browsing, VPN, ad block, no cookies allowed, etc.) for an epic internet setup, I went on the site and realized that Joe puts a note when he detects ad block about why he needs pop ups and ads and then refuses to let you log in. Looks like I’ll be using good old internet explorer for online shopping and posting on the forum.

The 1956 Summer Olympics were held in two different cities, in two different countries, on two different continents.
That’s right, the 1956 Summer Games were held in two entirely different cities, in two entirely different countries, and on two entirely different continents. No, track athletes didn’t run the 100 meters in Melbourne and then take a flight to Stockholm to compete in the 200 meters. Melbourne was picked as the host city and nearly all of the events happened there, but because of Australia’s strict quarantine laws, the equestrian events had to be held in Stolkholm. The Olympic organizers were not aware of these laws before they picked Melbourne, and by the time the International Olympic Committee learned of them, it was already too late to do anything about it.

Cloud Nine makes a very good album to ice-skate to. Especially ‘This Is Love’. All that slick 1980’s production, you know.

Emily Bronte only wrote one novel; ‘Wuthering Heights’.
My diminished ability to read books for long periods at a time may be down to having Addison’s Disease. It came up on a long list of symptoms I found online. I have always been a reader but over the last few years, it’s become harder to read a few pages at a time before my concentration disappears.
