With the line ‘While Weeping Atlas Cedars / They just want to grow, grow and grow’ from Beware Of Darkness George is referring to the plant Blue Atlas Cedars (Weeping= feeling blue, isn’t that ingenious?) which can grow under adverse circumstances.

I’ve also realised only now that @WeepingAtlasCedars’s username is taken from this song.paul-mccartney-facepalm_gif (To my defence, I only knew the All Things Must Pass version until now where this line doesn’t occur)

Before I’ve always thought that her username meant:

Weeping: taken from ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Atlas: referring to the character Atlas from the Greek mythology, because Led Zeppelin was also into mythology and Atlas was the one who held the sky, so basically the foundation for everything

Cedars: I faintly knew it was a plant but not which one, so I assumed it was the plant in Robert Plant’s sign

Why look for an easy answer, when you can also find a complicated one, eh?paul-mccartney-facepalm_gif But now, I know where your username comes from, I love it even more, WeepyC, because Beware Of Darkness is such a beautiful song and the message behind this very precise line is as well!a-hard-days-night-george-9

Not once does the diversity seem forced -- the genius of the record is how the vaudevillian "When I'm 64" seems like a logical extension of "Within You Without You" and how it provides a gateway to the chiming guitars of "Lovely Rita. - Stephen T. Erlewine on Sgt Pepper's

I learned how easily i can tell the difference between a manual typewriter, an electric typewriter, a word processor, and a computer. I know this because i went into an antique store and they had 5 typewriters lying there, and i knew that from left to right there was a word processor, a blue electric typewriter, a TRS-80 computer, a black manual typewriter, and another electric typewriter with no guessing and little thinking about it.

It is becoming increasingly common for the sound of white noise to be pumped into hospital rooms. The reason for this is to lessen the chances of patients being disturbed by noises from other rooms.

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8White noise is pumped into our office suite. There are 200 employees, most of whom work in cubicles that have desks that they can raise if they want to work while standing up for a bit. It is surprisingly quiet.

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

Comic book artist Todd McFarlane frequently hid images of Felix the Cat in comics that he drew.  The reason for this is because of a man he would run into at his local comic book store who kept a Felix doll with him.  This man would tell him that he did not like superhero comics.  McFarlane asked him if he would read his comics if he put Felix in them and he agreed to.  From then on, he hid Felix the Cat in his comics.

The man who came up with the rules for computer passwords when he was working for the US government, back in the mists of time (2003), Bill Burr, now believes his advice for a mix of symbols, lower and upper case letters, and numbers was completely WRONG!

Much of what I did I now regret. In the end, it was probably too complicated for a lot of folks to understand very well, and the truth is, it was barking up the wrong tree.

He now believes that the use of a long phrase with which you’re familiar is much more secure.

Actually there are lots of people who believe that what they told everybody was wrong, one i learned about today was the guy who coined the term alpha male and also the woman who convinced the court to legalize abortion is now pro life, some people make decisions that they regret later in life and in the case of people like these, it makes a big impact that they feel at blame for.

I don’t think the abortion example is a useful one, @Dark Overlord. While it is true that Norma McCorvey (Roe in Roe vs. Wade) later became a staunch Roman Catholic and pro-life campaigner, had her case not been the one that went to the Supreme Court, it would have been another very similar case that was going through the courts at the time. The case, and the ruling, was not about her per se, but whether the actions in some States were constitutional. If not Roe, it would have been another case, and the judges would have arrived at the same decision.

Had anybody but Bill Burr come up with the password rules, they could well have realised a long phrase was a better solution than Burr’s.

How long will it take the people who make you use all those number/letter/special character combinations for passwords to change the systems to allow you use long phrases? Wonder if it will be in our lifetimes?

I learned two things about the 1939 film version of The Wizard of Oz.

1. Three different Cairn Terriers were used to play Toto. The first two ran away. One of these turned up on the MGM lot two years later.

2. In the original book, the apples were green. At first, they tried green apples, but they didn’t show up well on film. Rather than spending extra money and replacing the green ones with red ones, the crew simply painted the apples red. Nobody told this to Judy Garland until after she took a bite of one.

I decided to look at some videos of this guy talk about his guitar collection.

I knew that Murray was the guitar guy of The Wiggles but i didn’t know how much he knew about them and cared about them. In the videos i watched, he talks about many things including how he prefers vintage guitars that have been well used and how he likes Led Zeppelin and he plays quite a few songs during the videos including Stairway To Heaven, Whole Lotta Love, and Black Dog on his Gibson Les Paul Custom through a Marshall half stack, Paint It Black on an electric sitar, Blackbird on his Martin D-28, and Wipeout on his fiesta red 1963 Fender Stratocaster. Man, for a guy who plays guitar in a children’s rock band, he sure cares a lot about guitars, which is odd but cool at the same time.

Thinking about The Wiggles, i learned (more so realized) how similar Dorothy’s Dance Party is to Long Time by Boston, i wonder if it was intentional.
