Can you revert to one of your previous edits because I missed it which sucks but hopefully someone took a picture or something. Well anyways, although what you are saying there has some light of truth, your so called ghost writers are actually the 2 lucky chaps near the bottom of this post who were essentially The Beatles bodyguards and assistants and they were always there, so they’re not ghost writers, they’re people who actually experienced it firsthand and I put Beatles Book Monthly top priority when it comes to these claims.

mal.pngImage Enlarger

Also, Beatles Book Monthly says that Ringo left for Sardinia, the place where Ringo supposedly was when he quit, on October 14th, which makes sense and also there are some plot holes in the Ringo quit during the recording session for Back In The USSR for 2 weeks and went to the Mediterranean theory:

1. Supposedly, Ringo came back to the studio on September 3rd with the drum set covered in flowers, but why would he go to the studio that day if there was nothing for him to do, that’d be like if I worked from Monday through Friday at a job but then I stormed out in rage only for my boss to want me to come back and for me to come in on a Saturday despite there being nothing for me to do that day.

2. Why would go back on vacation to the same place they spent 2 weeks at 2 months later.

3. Mal and Neil’s claims are from 1968 whereas Ringo’s claims are from 1995, so it is very possible that he isn’t quite remembering things that clearly, false memories are common and happen gradually over time.

4. Ringo supposedly returned on September 3rd whereas the video shoot was on September 4th, it seems odd that they got Ringo back the day before the classic closest thing you’ll get to a 1968 Beatles live performance of Hey Jude and Revolution especially considering they weren’t considering hiring a replacement drummer and they weren’t looking for a replacement drummer for the video in case if Ringo refused to return.

5. Do you really think Ringo would consent to having the first 2 tracks on their album be 2 that completely lack him

6. Although it is likely that Mal and Neil are deliberately lying in the magazine, it’s unlikely because if they really wanted to keep it a secret, they wouldn’t mention it at all instead of making false claims about it.

My theory:

Ringo did indeed storm out of the session for Back In The USSR and therefore didn’t participate at all in that song and although planned to stay in Sardinia on Peter Sellers yacht until September 3rd (which could be why he falsely remembers it this way), but after about a week, the other 3 decided to send Ringo a telegram asking for his return, which he did just in time to record the chorus aahs and handclaps for Dear Prudence although Paul still played drums on the track. However, if I could see the telegraph and if it has a date of September 3rd on it, I will agree with you.

My point was that, contrary to your belief, the Mal Evans and Neil Aspinall articles were often ghost-written, and always went through peer review to decide if the right view from the inner circle was being given. It’s propaganda. Disguised press releases as inner circle gossip.

And the writings on the White in BBM are some of the most disingenuous, because BBM and others are still trying to hold up a crumbling illusion of unity.

Is there any confirmation of this both in general and for the little snippets written about each song.

I just cleaned up my copy of Beatles VI with an eraser.

Thanks for this Evangeline. I kept note of this when I first saw it, and I finally got a chance to use it. My new On The Border record had some ringwear and I tried this trick on it, and it cleaned it up nicely.

TIL: A Facebook friend of a Facebook friend has never heard The Beatles (a/k/a The White Album ).

Mind = blown. I was like really? Really? “Dear Prudence “? “Blackbird “? “Birthday “? “I Will “? etc.. ?? I don’t know why but yeah, I just figured EVERYONE knows The Beatles, all the albums, and whatnot. This woman is my age, too, so I guess it really surprised me, more so than with a much younger person.

There had been a piece on 20/20 about Charles Manson and the “family”, and this came up during discussion. She also had no idea about the whole Helter Skelter thing, the interpretation by Manson of the songs on the album etc. so we discussed a little further and I filled her in. She knew of the murders, of Manson, but not all that part.

Not once does the diversity seem forced -- the genius of the record is how the vaudevillian "When I'm 64" seems like a logical extension of "Within You Without You" and how it provides a gateway to the chiming guitars of "Lovely Rita. - Stephen T. Erlewine on Sgt Pepper's

Except it ain’t a holiday! It’s just a day that the United Nations have randomly decided to dub the International Day of Happiness! Hands up anyone who got the day off because it’s the International Day of Happiness? … I’m waiting … still waiting … Nobody? Then it ain’t a holiday! It’s just a made up silly name that means nothing.

Anyway, moans should be in Pet Peeves!

1. Prior to 1882, Regina, Saskatchewan was known as “Pile-of-Bones.”

2. El Dorado, the mythical city of gold, still appeared on maps as late as 1808.

are actually called christian doors. They have a cross at the top and the old and new testaments at the bottom.
