I want to be the next Taylor Swift, despite some formidable obstacles, including wrong gender, age and position on talent spectrum.

I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

I’m sure you could remake some of her songs.

I was a bit disturbed she was using an electrified Luna tho, I hear bad things about those ukes. The other thing in her favour was the fashionable singing tone which really works for the singer/songwriter genre at the moment.

Hint: It wasn’t AG.

She could teach her Dolphin how to play the ukulele using the uke that Ahhh Girl didn’t buy.

Restrung my Kala concert with Aquila Red strings, they sound pretty darn good, very plunky and loud which is good for cheaper ukuleles. I also bought a harmonica to do bad Dylan impressions with. I haven’t been well lately and this scuppered my plans to hit the Melbourne Ukulele Festival this month, so I am consoling myself with making bad music at home.

And speaking of bad music, this goes here because it’s not a Beatles cover:

Marcie by Joni Mitchell

I was so pleased with myself for figuring this out. Hear the plunky picking on the concert uke! Also, I am not a patch on Joni.

Does anybody here tune their ukuleles to E standard (EADG), how about Eb standard, D standard, Drop D, or Open G (GBDG). If I am playing, I like my ukes tuned to E.

I’ve played with tuning up to ADF#B but I broke a string on it. I’d like to experiment with other tunings but I want to buy a nice soprano first that can take the punishment.

My uke is tuned to the ordinary uke tuning. Open C6 I believe. (Correct me if i’m wrong.)

I like covering Beatles and solo George, and I also write songs on the ukelele sometimes.

Edit: and of course I like covering solo Paul. Ram On !

Guitars make ukuleles obsolete, but if I’m going to play one, I want it tuned to E or something like that, you guys should try Drop C# on a uke and I dare you to play slide uke because it’s interesting.

There is no such thing as obsolete in music. The Beatles taught us that.

I am in Hawaii and I bought a ukulele for my wife and I to learn. I thought of George Harrison .

It wasn’t expensive but it wasn’t the cheapest one I saw. It is a plywood uke painted black with a rosewood fretboard marketed as a “beginner’s ukelele.”

It seems to be well made with good strings.

The brand name is Hang Loose.

Last night I met up with some people from the internet and I played ukulele and kazoo at them. They didn’t kill me, so I must have done well. They loved the kazoos particularly so another win for kazoos! I have Ukulele Acquisition Syndrome again, I want a better soprano and golly did US freight charges jump again? Everything’s gone up $100! If I save up I might be able to get a cheap Magic Fluke banjolele though: one thing I learnt from last night is that I need a uke that projects better, my concert is way too quiet.
