Got a letter this morning of an admission into the Princess Royal on 7 September, unless an earlier slot becomes available. The idea at the moment is surgery first followed by the chemo, etc., but they will do more tests at the time to see exactly where things are as there is a longer gap between diagnosis and the start of treatment than there would usually be.
It is worrying that I have to wait until September, but then I’m glad to get in this year, knowing there are those who are far further along and in need of treatment sooner. Because of the last 18 months, the waiting list is scary.

Offline Nerves are kicking in a bit, @Ahhh Girl. Still have the anxiety of finding out whether it’s still the hoped for Stage I or whether it’s moved on to Stage II. Whichever it turns to be, all I can do is keep on keeping on.
At least I’ll know exactly what the situation I’m facing is.

Offline Sitting in the car park having a smoke break. Not much happened today, just a blood test and blood pressure taken 3 times, with 1 more time to go at eleven when I get my meds. The fun starts tomorrow when they start inspecting my arsehole to find out where things are at the moment so they can make the final decision on how the treatment progresses.

Offline Unfortunately not the news I wanted, Stage II. I don’t know it really makes it harder to overcome, just sounds scarier.
So, first round of chemo tomorrow. I have been letting my hair grow and currently have a ridiculously big beard, very much Lennon circa-’69. All to be shaved off when I get home. Don’t wanna watch it falling out in clumps.
Surgery will happen after the chemo, though there is a lump near my bumhole that they may remove while I’m in this time just in case.
Looks like I’m in for another few days, and have a fun couple of months ahead.
Want a nice bottle of brandy when I get out of here.
