Please let It be nothing, or, if not nothing, then something the doctors can easily fix.

Thanks for thoughts and good wishes.
Obviously a nervous few days ahead, and nobody wants to be an in-patient with hospitals at the moment. Have to wear a mask all the time when with nurses and doctors, which I ain’t looking forward to (but still bought 10 medical grade masks when I went to the chemist’s yesterday). Been assured that no-one I come into contact with will have had contact with Covid patients.
Going into Guys at London Bridge, by far the furthest I’ve been from home in 18 months. Needs to be done though.

Well, here goes, friends. Bag packed, and I’ll be on my way to Guys in the next half-hour, hoping for the best. Likely to be quite quiet the next few days, but will keep you all as informed as possible.

Well, there was always a good chance it would return, and it seems it has. They think it’s Stage I/borderline Stage II, and we’re still discussing a treatment plan.
Last time around it was surgery first, then chemo and radiotherapy. This time the surgery might come last.
Not the news I wanted, but it is what it is.

S**t.
Sorry to hear that and… well, every word always reads and sounds like a crap reproduction of the same empty sentiments.
Best you can do is fight with every ounce of strength you have, keep positive, accept the shitty downs when they come, enjoy every up you get to the fullest, and be honest with those you want to be around. Everyone else can piss off and then go a little further away. If they don’t take it well, that’s up to them.
If there is anything I can do or that you need please just say and I will do what I can.

Really terrible news but not much you could have done – at least you’ll be able to get rid of it again, albeit slowly.
As mmm said – anything I can do to help, let me know.
Wishing a very speedy recovery (and have a feeling some Beatles may be utilised to do so)

Thanks for the thoughts, and for those who have sent email messages.
Not the news I wanted but was half expecting. Not as shocking as it was the first time I heard those words, and less fearful than I was then as I know what’s ahead treatment-wise, and the effects they will have on me, crap as they are.
A treatment plan should be decided by the end of the week as they make a call on how borderline Stage IIA it is, which will decide which way around things are done.
I have an uninvited guest at the moment. Rest assured they will not be staying if I have any say.

Hi, just catching up with this thread. I wish you all the best @Ron Nasty, and as a two-time survivor myself, I definitely relate to the mix of emotions. I’m sure your situation is different from mine in many ways, but it isn’t as bad the second time around, especially after the initial disappointment of relapsing subsides. It’s also easier when you know how to cope with treatments from prior experience. Definitely takes a lot of the scary unknown factor out of the equation. Best of luck to you, I know you’ve got this.
