You are the last person who gets to criticize me for illegal downloads, Von. Time Is On My Side has to be the catchiest song ever.
Hey, considering that like 20% of my extensive record collection was illegally downloaded…
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.
Time On My Side is such an awful performance that I wonder why they released it. The whole band seems to be all over the place, especially Brian Jones on the tambourine. Neither version is much good, though the faster one seems to be slightly more together.

It's more the way Mick sings that I like, personally. Although that second version is unbearable.

I tend to agree with you there, Joe. but it's gotten to the point where it's so bad that I love it. A little like All Together Now .

Anyone know anything about this release?
Is this coming thru the same route as the two Canadian Beatles albums that have caused legal issues between Sony and Universal on one side and Stargrove Entertainment on the other?

That is the first I’ve seen of it, @meanmistermustard . Looks interesting.
I laughed when I saw this page from Amazon. Check out the section where you can preview the songs and pay particular attention to Track # 10.
Maybe the person who typed it in was a bit peckish? Seems the poor bird’s goose is cooked!

My new favourite song of theirs ATM is Waiting For A Friend from Tattoo You (1981). Despite Ron Wood appearing in the video, parts of the song were originally recorded in 1972 while Mick Taylor was still a member. His guitar track can be heard on the song. Also, I think @WeepingAtlasCedars will recognise where the beginning of the video is shot…

Oh jeez. That album cover looks like it was designed in Microsoft PowerPoint 95.

I like the Stones but like a lot of people have said previously I think their singles are their best songs. I haven’t listened to too many of their albums but I can’t say I am very impressed by the deep cuts so I stick to Hot Rocks and the Forty Licks compilations most of the time.
Pain It Black is probably my favourite Stones song.

Funny, because I had the singles collection as well as Forty Licks, but I couldn’t get into The Rolling Stones until I bought Let It Bleed, Exile On Mainstreet, and Sticky Fingers. Once I listened to those albums 2,000 times I dived into their earlier albums as well as Beggars Banquet, Some Girls, and Emotional Rescue. I’m still not a Stones expert, but without albums, I would have little interest in the band. Now they are one of my favorite groups ever.

As much as I like these new videos, seems like they’re trying to hype up the Satanic Majesties reissue to cash in on Pepper’s anniversary success. But then we all knew that album was a huge rip off of Pepper anyways.

I thought Mick and co played their final final definitely final definitely UK show a year or so back in London.
I went to see them in Glasgow about 15 years ago and they were a massive disappointment.

I’ve been quite into the Stones lately. Some of my favourites are Angie, Wild Horses and YCAGWYW, once you get past the horrendous choir arrangement on the intro.
