Of all the album’s you’ve ever listened to, regardless of artist, have you ever listened to an album in which you think that all the songs are at least good, and that there are no bad songs? I’m going to exclude compilation albums and soundtracks. I can only think of one album off the top of my head, and that is ‘Made in Heaven’ by Queen. This album was probably the least likely to be successful, if you know about the hell that went into making it, but it was pretty fantastic, actually. In my opinion, there were no bad songs.

I don’t think there are any bad songs on any Beatles albums… But I love them way too much, so besides them… Let me think
Since you mentioned Queen, I love Jazz, amazing album, no bad songs.
This probably counts as a compilation, but the Police singles album is perfect.
I can’t think of anymore off the top of my head…

Queen and The Beatles are tied in my book for greatest band of all time. The Beatles, however, don’t have a perfect album to me. The closest was Abbey Road . Made in Heaven, while probably not the best Queen album, is, by the fact of it not having a bad or mediocre song(to me, at least), a perfect album.

Tough one. I’d say these at the very least come very, very close:
Revolver – The Beatles
Rubber Soul – The Beatles
Pet Sounds – The Beach Boys
After the Goldrush – Neil Young
Harry – Harry Nilsson
Sail Away – Randy Newman
The Band (self-titled)
Blonde on Blonde – Bob Dylan
John, The Wolf King of LA – John Phillips
The Stone Roses (self-titled)

Revolver is the only Beatles album, as mentioned in the Beatles only, but otherwise identical thread.

Yeah, I’d be lying if I said that thread didn’t give me inspiration for this one. However, I felt this one was necessary because this covers all albums, not only the Beatles, and can lead to deeper discussion.

I’ll think of more, later… maybe.

Rubber Soul , Revolver , Pepper, and Abbey Road from The Beatles to me all qualify. I don’t think there is a bad song on any of them. Even stuff like Maxwell’s Silver Hammer is decent. When I’m 64 sometimes gets skipped, but I don’t think that’s a bad song either.

I think not, as this is not for Beatles albums. Just make sure any thoughts you have that belong to the other thread are posted there and not here.

^ Definitely. I would feel like I was doing something wrong if I skipped any of them anyway (not that I’ve ever wanted to), as they as sort of ”flow together”.

I know this is really subjective to what our musical tastes are, but here’s a small list of (non-Beatles) albums I believe are perfect start to finish:
Pink Floyd – Dark Side Of The Moon
Pink Floyd – Wish You Were Here
Pink Floyd – Animals
Fastball – All The Pain Money Can Buy
Fountains of Wayne – Traffic And Weather
The Knack – Get The Knack
Owsley – Owsley
Weezer – Green Album
Boston – Boston
Cheap Trick – Heaven Tonight
The Dictators – Bloodbrothers
Jet – Get Born
Michael Jackson – Thriller (yes, really)

Although it isn’t necessarily my favourite of their albums, I think Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ qualifies. Whenever I put it on, I never feel like there are any low spots that must be skipped.
I feel this way about Animals. Apparently I am not alone…

Another one for me is Brothers and Sisters from The Allman Brothers Band. Come to think of it, their first album (self titled) is another.

I’m obviously in the minority in terms of Floyd fans as, except for Dogs which is absolutely outstanding, I find Animals to be quite mediocre. The concept behind it is good, as are the lyrics, but there’s something lacking there for me.
Another one I’ve thought of is Pet Sounds. The Beach Boys are hardly a favourite group of mine, but this album’s fantastic in many ways.
