The obvious one, ’cause it can be sung by men OR women without awkwardness!

Biting the head off a raw fish or receiving a REALLY painful (non-disfiguring) bite from a small shark?

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

@Mr. Kite:

So, you could choose? I can’t. The raw energy of The Police or the more touching voice of Sting singing solo, playing his guitar? (I assume you knew it or you listened to it). I can’t make up my mind. I love them both equally.

Biting off the head of a fish, naturally (would anybody really prefer to be the prey and not the predator?)

For those of us who appreciate female beauty… and this is challenging –for me, I can’t make up my mind! Kim Novak in Vertigo or Milla Jovovich in Resident Evil?

Based on those two pictures i’ll go with Milla as whilst she would only shoot me Kim looks like she’d have some heavy goons take me away and break every bone in my body slowly before feeding me to some hungry piranhas.

Birthday or Christmas presents?

I like the energy, tempo, and background vocals of the Police version. The Sting one doesn’t get me in the same way, although I do like it.

Roxanne is one of the songs that always gives me shivers. (Which is called musical frisson in case anyone ever wanted a word for that.)

If I spoke prose you'd all find out, I don't know what I talk about.

@meanmistermustard:

Nope, Kim would only break your heart and turn you into a crust of a man (watch Vertigo). And Milla could probably save you from the flesh-eating zombies! But I still can’t decide.

I agree with you, but Sting’s solo version is… sadder, for lack of a better word. I’ve always thought (felt?) that Sting must have fallen for a prostitute at one time in his youth. The song rings true, it’s really heartfelt. But then again maybe I’m wrong, it’s just that I’m reading too much into it.

Frisson: thanks for the information.

Birthday presents. My birthday is more important than Jesus’ birthday (that goes for everyone in the planet).

Here’s another one for the romantics in the forum. She written by Charles Aznavour and Herbert Kretzmer in its original 1974 version sung by Charles Aznavour, or the 1999 Elvis Costello version? And by the way, I know very well which one I prefer…

Don’t be rude @meanmistermustard, answer to my question before posting yours, which version of “She” do you prefer? “Neither” is a valid option, not answering (like some other members have done) is not.

Erm… what i replied to is now not there (shower curtain or shower door), no idea where it went or what happened? a-hard-days-night-paul-10Sigh. Sorry @Oudis.

Between those two versions of “she” i would have to go for neither as both would have me unwinding the extension cable and bringing the toaster with me to the filled bathtube as i cried my eyes out – sorry but they’re not my thing as i find them both to be seriously depressing.

I had replied at the same time as Kite. So as to not make things confusing, I quickly deleted my post. Guess you saw it anyway, @meanmistermustard. I had asked the question shower door or shower curtain.

OK, back to choosing. Someone pick Superted or Bananaman.

Thank you @meanmistermustard and you @Ahhh Girl, everything is clear now. I didn’t think you’d be rude Meanmistermustard, it’s not your style –but as I said it’s happened to me before in this very thread… I find it strange you find She a depressing song, but well, we all react differently to what we listen to. Somebody else reply to Superted or Bananaman, it’s not my kind of question (would Howard the Duck be considered a valid third option? a-hard-days-night-paul-4).

By the way, did you like She, @Ahhh Girl?

If you meant which of the two I like better, @Oudis, I pick the secomd one. I would like to hear Paul sing it.

If you meant what do I think of the lyrics, please allow me to do some free association.

1. Tomorrow Never Knows
2. You have found her, now go and get her.
3. But on the other hand, the “In My Life – what’s happening in your life currently” began with quite a few stories of unrequited love.

Most young people do. I don’t, I prefer Aznavour -but then again I’m not young.

Why do you present impossible choices?!

No mouth, then I could still listen to/play music, just not sing with it.

Calc or chem.

or the secret option… Neither!
