The Ten Faves
* The Godfather Part 2 (Part 1 is great, but Part 2 is on a whole another level- if Part 1 is Rubber Soul , Part 2 is Revolver )
* Sideways
* Spring Forward
* Rocky (the first one is brilliant, the rest I can do without except III, which is great on a “so bad it’s good” level)
* A Mighty Wind (skewers the whole “folk” era of music from the ’60s so expertly)
* Short Cuts (Altman’s masterpiece- yes, even over Nashville)
* Annie Hall (Woody Allen’s masterpiece)
* Office Space
* The Candidate (best last line ever in a movie- “What do we do now?”)
* Marty (the only movie I ever watched and felt like it was written with me in mind)
Chosen Not to Watch
Most of the Harry Potters (saw the last three when I got married), any of the Twilight films, Gladiator, The Matrix… any film where people tell me I MUST watch, I don’t
Regret Having Seen
* Pink Flamingos (if you’ve seen it, you know why)
* 120 Days of Sodom (ditto)
* A Smile Like Yours (I was an extra at the airport scene, yet never made the film- but watched the whole awful movie to see if I did)
* From Justin to Kelly (I’m convinced that if this movie had completely ripped off the ending from Karate Kid Part II and used it for their ending, it would have made FJTK 5,000% better)
* On the Line (my then-g.f. was a huge N’Sync fan, so I took one from the team. At least she paid me back. )
* Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band (just to see if it was as bad as people said it was- well, it was)

@Starr Shine? Which version of The Wicker Man do you regret seeing? The fantastic British original or the dreadful Hollywood remake.
Also curious about how The Star Wars Holiday Special (a dreadful Seasonal TV show) counts as a movie?

Glad it was the remake. I’d highly recommend the Director’s Cut of the original.
The Star Wars Holiday Special was more of a variety show set in the Star Wars universe, but definitely couldn’t be classed as a movie.

@Ron Natsy, Annadog40:
The Wicker Man –I should have included it (the British one) among mine. Superb.
@Zig:
Grosse Pointe Blank! Another one I should have included!

Why have you chosen not to watch Let it Be? I can only assume it’s because of the stress around that time.
By hook or by crook, I'll be last in this book.

Trying the 2nd half of ‘On The Road’ tonight was too tired to continue watching it last night so it’s getting another whirl in the DVD player. I bought the DVD in France therefore I have to change it from the French dub which is alright but the English version HAS BLOODY FRENCH SUBTITLES THAT I CAN’T GET RID OF!!! Grrr…. well at least I’m learning some French anyways.
I might watch The Great Gatsby tomorrow night, we shall see…

I saw The November Man this afternoon.

Pretty good movie. In movies like this they usually spend too much time on the chase and fight scenes and not enough time explaining why the scenes are happening. I could actually follow the “why” in this movie. The chase and fight scenes are mostly short enough that I didn’t start getting antsy during them.

Now that I think about it I should have included Barton Fink in my list, a 1991 masterpiece by Joel and Ethan Cohen, with the amazing John Goodman and a superb John Turturro. Has anybody seen it? I recommend it to you guys.
Cheers,
Oudis.

I’ve just stumbled across the film ‘House of Wax’ (2005 version) and found Paris Hilton is in it. When did she become an actress? Does this mean the film is automatically crap?
Going by the five minutes i’ve seen the answer to the latter is yes and life is too short to waste on finding out if i’m wrong. Turn over time.
