I dont have a problem with companies bumping off main characters; keeps interest going and is more realistic than everyone good lives and only ever leave if they get a promotion or married.
I wouldn’t mind it Now And Then – the trouble is it has become so overdone that it’s a cliche all its own – and what is meant to be a dramatic and moving moment just becomes ‘oh no, they did it again’ – which fails to have any emotional resonance.
I mean – they even killed off one of the characters in the Matrix sequels twice to try and yank our emotions about. What a load of cobblers.

Matrix characters were far to bland for me to care for them.

I like “From Russia With Love” the best, but Roger Moore plays the best Bond, not Sean Connery.

My dad bought a boxset of all of them (through Skyfall) and we’ve been working our way through them.
You gotta watch Live And Let Die , of course.

I’ve always found that Roger Moore started out great as James Bond but over time the films deteriorated and by the time the 80’s kicked in they were pretty standard, under Timothy Dalton they were dire; improvment was found in Pierce Brosnan tho they were still very inconsistant. It wasnt until Daniel Craig took over that they returned to a high level, tho the less said about ‘Spectre’ best said. Sean Connery was probably the best overall but even then one or two of his era I find to be poor.

We paused Dr. No for a moment on this frame while we turned off some lights in the house.
Ohhh Boy walks into the room and says, “So that’s where the Beatles got the idea to take a picture walking across Abbey Road .” I’ve got my whole family thinking Beatles, Beatles, Beatles.

No comment on George Lazenby?
Apologies.
‘On Her Majesty ‘s Secret Service’ is a very good story but George Lazenby couldn’t act very well; in places a tree would have been better. Lessens the film for me.

Of course there are the obvious Beatles connections in the Bond movies: 1. Don’t listen to Beatles without earmuffs, 2. Barbara Bach was in a Bond film, 3. Paul did the Live And Let Die song.
These two I’m going to claim as being Beatley: 1. In Live And Let Die , there is a character named J.W. Pepper (John Winston and Sgt Pepper references?) 2. In Die Another Day , Halle Berry tells Bond to turn the laser machine off or she won’t be half the woman she used to be.

Yes, it is in Goldfinger.
“My dear girl, there are some things that just aren’t done, such as drinking Dom Perignon ’53 above the temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s just as bad as listening to the Beatles without earmuffs!”

Here’s another semi-obvious connection. From the George Martin article on Wikipedia:
Martin also directly and indirectly contributed to the main themes of three films in the James Bond series. Although Martin did not produce the theme for the second Bond film, From Russia with Love, he was responsible for the signing of Matt Monro to EMI just months prior to his recording of the song of the same title.[84]
Martin also produced two of the best-known James Bond themes. The first was “Goldfinger” by Shirley Bassey in 1964.[85] The second, in 1973, was “Live and Let Die” by Paul McCartney and Wings for the film of the same name. He also composed and produced the film’s score.[86

I missed that one, both the girl and the movie.
I do however recall watching Qantum of Solace …. 😉
