When I was going to Spain so many people had booked for the flight that we got the transatlantic Boeing 757 which had the in-flight entertainment system, I’ve never been outside of Europe and only had the entertainment system once before so it was like Christmas had come early for me, t’was great. Unfortunately , we got the “coming back from America entertainment” which didn’t have the films I wanted so I ended up watching ‘(500) Days of Summer’ which I don’t really like, the only bit I enjoy is this:

The trailer for the new Bond film ‘Spectre’ is out (in the spoiler). I’m tempted to go to the cinema 5 weeks after the release when there’s hardly anyone else in to ruin the experience and see it. Took me 2 years to see ‘Skyfall’.

The first trailer let us in on the fact that someone in Bond’s past was the subject of burnt guardianship papers retrieved from the ruined Skyfall…….We can probably assume this is a connection between Bond and the head of Spectre……..an intriguing plot awaits.
It took until the end of Skyfall for all of Fleming’s characters to be introduced…….Now after 2 and a half great movies the cast is assembled, Bond’s ruthlessness and backstory is established and the stage is set for Bond to be Bond. I can’t wait. Unfortunately living in Thailand I will have to……about 2 weeks more than those of you in the UK.
Keeping free from media contamination is going to be hard.
Hope Adel get’s the theme gig.

Apparently Ellie Goulding () will sing the theme.
Since it turned 20 this week and is considered to be somewhat of a classic, I decided to watch Clueless, which I had never watched before. What a great 90s teen movie. And RIP Brittany Murphy

God I despise Ellie Goulding’s voice, it’s like nails on a chalkboard, she tries to have a cutesy-wootsy, breathy little girl’s voice and it just doesn’t work!
I’ve enjoyed Craig as Bond, it’ll be sad to see him go- I wonder will they go for an unknown for the new 007 or an already-established actor?
I want Jeremy Irons as a villain but I guess he wouldn’t want to repeat ‘Die Hard With a Vengeance’ again.

I’ve now updated my movie collection to contain the rest of the Scorsese/De-Niro catalog (King of Comedy, Mean Streets and New York, New York) and now moved on into a little bit of Coen brothers (Fargo) a dose of David Fincher (Se7en and Fight Club) a seasoning of Quentin Tarantino (Resevoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown) and a sprinkle of Beatles/Richard Lester on top! (A Hard Day’s Night )Oh, I almost forgot to add Sidney Lumit 🙂 (Network)
Wow, that’s amazing how our tastes coalign! I’ve got the complete Coens filmography, every Tarantino but one, both Lester/Beatles films and about 75% of the Scorsese filmography myself!
(My two Finchers are “Zodiac” and “The Social Network” however. And I’ve got Lumet’s “Dog Day Afternoon” but still have never seen all of “Network”.)
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

Watched She’s The Man today with a Shakespeare group as it was based on Twelfth Night. Entertaining.

You ever seen the 2000 version of Hamlet, @Beatlebug ? I did a whole report on it for a college-level Shakespeare class. It’s a decent modern adaptation. I am positive that it’s on Netflix if you’ve got it.

I watched the Minion movie about 2 weeks ago, and it was very enjoyable! Since the movie was set in the late 60’s, they put in LOTS of classic rock things. They even put an Abbey Road reference in there, and I loved it
I also saw Inside Out a month ago, and I liked it, but it was really depressing…
