If anyone wants to see total chaos at a major football event please direct your eyes to Glasgow, Scotland on the 28th October when the four biggest teams in Scottish football (that’s Celtic, Aberdeen, Rangers and Hearts) all gather to play two semi-finals at Hampen Park, hours apart (Aberdeen v Rangers at 12pm, Hearts v Celtic at 7:45pm).If you are thinking “oh, it will be fine” please note that many Aberdeen fans hate Rangers, many Rangers fans hate Celtic and Aberdeen, many Celtic fans hate Rangers and many Hearts fans hate Celtic.
And this has all been agreed by the Scottish Police.
Out of all the possible solutions available, aside from all four teams playing each other at the same time in one massive free-for-all, this is quite possibly the worst, most puzzling decision.
Aberdeen and Hearts have both said the decision is utterly appalling. Hearts fans won’t get back to Edinburgh centre until around midnight Monday at the earliest, never mind getting home. Aberdeen fans as it stands won’t get into Glasgow city centre off the first train from Aberdeen until 15 minutes after kick-off. Scotrail have said they were never consulted about putting extra trains on until after the decision was announced.
If you want to see incompetent idiots running an organisation you’ll see two in Scottish football; the SFA and the SPFL.

As another AFL fan I’m fervently hoping the state team loses because otherwise Melbourne will be terrible to visit in the next month with Collingwood fans roaming in packs. Too well I remember the dark days of 1990. Although it must have been quite awful after Richmond won last year, hmm.
Hoping the Eagles win. Today is the day. If Collingwood supporters are violent they need to be arrested.

Offline I have an idea if anyone thinks it is a good idea and wants to participate.
I think it would be neat to have a list of the instruments that begin each Beatles song. I’m thinking it would be organized by album. I’m thinking the categories would be : drum, piano, guitars, other, and combination of instruments. I don’t want to get heavy-techy trying to list which guitar or anything like that.

Just clarifying, @Ahhh Girl but for instance, if we take the song ‘She Loves You ‘ – we would list ‘drums’, as the first note is only played by drums, whereas for ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand ‘ we would list ‘drums, guitar, bass, hammond organ’?
Basically, I’m asking if we’re talking about the very first note or the whole introduction section (if applicable – eg. Maxwell’s Silver Hammer doesn’t have an introduction on Abbey Road )?

Maybe first note. What do you all think? We will probably have to make some concessions for some songs. Like, would we say that the first note is a human voice on count-ins? Would we just list a song that doesn’t have a first note and just say “none” in front of it? Once we flush out or ideas, we can start up the thread. We can cross-reference our idea-development here in this thread.

Offline Yeah, I’d agree on the first note.
What about a google sheet that we can all edit, and it’s got each song as a column and every instrument as a row, and we black out the cells that don’t have an instrument and highlight the cells that do correspond, like this:
If people like this, I’m more than happy to chuck all of the song names into the sheet and then share it with everyone so we can work on it?
