I just got back from a Fourth of July party. It is kind of weird when you’re outside saying 90F is cool, but it does feel good after a day of 106F.

Scotland, where I am, was meant to be 19°c today, no chance it was tho.

Normally if it’s 19°c we are claiming public holidays in celebration and heading to the beach with everyone believing it’s a national holiday and won’t be seen for another 11 months. Instead, if it went to 19°c we’d be torn between being pleased or moaning that the temperature had dropped. The BBC forecast goes up to the 17th July and not one day does it go below 20°c and the highest chance of rain is 15%. This is Scotland!! Three days without rain and we’re wondering what the hell is going on.

While I was sweating recently at a night concert during a heat wave at Dodger Stadium, I thought of the sheer insanity of going to a show at the Rose Bowl in the summer. Under the baking sun. And I pledged to myself that I would never do that again. Not even if Judy Garland or Jimi Hendrix rose from the grave to be there. (But I’m not making any promises about John Lennon . If he came back, I’d go to Death Valley in August.)
