I’d be a bit peeved if post 44 in New Paul Album thread was moved as that’s a straight response to Joe’s post making that thread meaningless and a waste of time.

Looks like the Beatles Bible forum is taking a summer nap of late. No doubt people’s real lives are impinging and they have other things to do.Certainly true in my case… I peep in on the forum several times a day, but I haven’t posted all that much of late due to (accelerated) summer class, preparing to play at a friend’s graduation, and (mostly) my completely out-of-control David Bowie obsession.
I’m having a what I call a musical “rest”. It makes me a little anxious that I’m out of ideas but I’ve learnt to accept that I just can’t force it because the results are usually terrible. So I got a new kitten, Noot who is a little devil but cute as a button (why are buttons cute?), and I’m attending to much-needed computer hardware upgrades and trying to stay warm, the winter is very cold this year. Listening to a lot of tech house/microhouse because I like wacky Germans with synthesisers.

Not the reasons that Joe gave, @meanmistermustard, nor what happened with the thread for New. You’ve just summed up why I’m annoyed, who will bother to look at the already existing thread – something I’ve put a lot of effort into over the past few days – now they’ve been directed elsewhere?Had I known it was a dead-end thread I would have not wasted my time, using the News thread instead. While the speculation leading up to the announcement of the New album doesn’t seem to have put anyone off that thread; in fact, most people enter a thread at the most recent post, and then decide if they want to read more.
If threads about speculation on new product are going to be dead-ended from now on (because the title is generally not known for a while), what is the point of anyone bothering with them?
I agree with your comment that the existing thread will effectively become a dead-end thread, and thank you for the time and effort you put into the thread.
You wrote that you would have used the News thread instead if you had known. Could the existing thread be copied into the News thread now?
And in the end
The love you take is equal to the love you make

Copying an entire thread into the news thread would be a mess. A link to the thread along with a post about said event in the news thread would be best.

Yup.
The original thread has been renamed so hopefully a happy medium has been found and she’s not charging too much for a reading.

Yay for a new kitty, @ewe2!
I must ask, is there any correlation between the choice of name and Pingu the penguin?

I’m afraid that it was entirely unconscious until a friend pointed it out, but I’m very glad about the connection! I had no idea where I got the name but I spelt it correctly. I often think of weird words and discover they already exist, like blunge.
Also rip Pingu, the original illustrator Tony Wolf died recently.

Glad it wasn’t just me.
As silly as it may sound, I’ve felt a little guilty not participating much over the past couple of months. One reason is I’m currently working on a professional designation (passed the first two courses!!) which led to a promotion at work and hopefully more to come once I complete all of the courses.
On a less than lofty note, I’ve fallen into the Facebook current and am having a hard time swimming out of it. It’s not something that I used to pay much attention to because I’m the type that would rather pick up the phone and call those I care about. Then, right around the time my presence here started to wane, I was made aware of the death of an old friend from grade school that I hadn’t seen in many years. All of a sudden, I found myself reconnecting to so many of my childhood friends from school and it has been a blast sharing stories of old as well as catching up on the “where are they now?” stuff. We may even plan a reunion soon – time will tell. So, while my friend’s passing is sad, he has brought many of us back together as a result. He would have loved that. Rest in peace, Joe. We miss you.
Now, I look forward to reconnecting with you all and can’t wait for Egypt Station to arrive at my front door. Have a great summer…or winter…wherever you are.

Ahhh… you freaked me out for a millisecond there!
Sorry to hear that, Zig. No great loss without some small gain, I suppose.
