You will be receiving a PM within the next few hours, @WeepingAtlasCedars. It’s more-or-less done, just reading through and tweaking to make sure it’s right.
Unfortunately, this has been delayed as a result of feeling the need to respond a post you made yesterday. Feeling the need to address the situation in full following your post, I spent nearly two hours writing that response, rather than finalising my PM to you, and haven’t felt able to get back your PM today. I will return to it tomorrow and send my reply.
It was around five in the morning I got to sleep yesterday. It’s now 2:30 in the morning, and I’m going to try to get to sleep a little earlier tonight.

Anyone have suggestions for good Beatles songs to play at a graduation?
Not my graduation — one of my friends’. He’s asked his fabulously talented music-playing friends to kindly perform at his ceremony, and we’ve been trying to think of somewhat suitable songs to play — ‘Stairway To Heaven’ and ‘In My Life ‘ are not being considered. The songs should preferably be somewhat thematically apt or at least upbeat/celebratory (but not Birthday , because it’s not a birthday) (that rules out Radiohead, unfortunately), and so I thought some Beatles songs would be good… but I can’t think of any one(s) in particular, although ‘A Day In The Life ‘ was a suggestion because it’s gloriously weird enough for us, and somewhat epic.

The chorus to ‘Think For Yourself ‘ is apt for someone getting ready to head out on their own, but the rest of the lyrics may not relay the right message unless you alter them. But that would be sacrilege. It’s hard to find a Beatles song that would fit the theme of of high school graduation. That fact actually makes me like them even more.

Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

I thought about that song as well. But when the lyrics turned to being cruel to a woman…

I thought of that one too, thinking we might cut that verse. But my friend has been homeschooled, so he wasn’t being filled up by rules.
One strong candidate is With A Little Help From My Friends , which would be suitable, I think (I ought to know ). I also thought something like Old Brown Shoe (which he’s stepping out of) or It’s All Too Much (all the world is birthday cake, so take a piece but not too much) would work well, but I don’t know if I could get the lads to learn them — they’re longish, weird and obscure.

^Good idea SWR. I thought of going through George Harrison ‘s stuff to see if anything would be appropriate (ATMP , maybe, although it’s a bit sombre), because he likes George’s stuff too.
