I do love that mildly blech metallic smell one’s fingers acquire from a solid bout of guitaring, as well as the shredded-callous feeling.
Yep, I’m officially insane
Oh, yes, yes, yes! I know exactly what you mean that’s one of the best feelings ever! Sadly, my callouses are very soft again after being away so long and not being able to practice. (first world problems…)

I haven’t thought about callouses in years; I just checked and I have none, even though I play an acoustic guitar almost every day. I do remember having them when I first started. These days, what I worry most about is when the fingernails on my picking hand break or split. I need at least my thumb, index and middle finger to have a strong, medium length nail (not too long, not too short) in order to enjoy finger-picking the strings. I’ve had many experiences where I was looking forward to spending a weekend playing for 2 or 3 hours, but as the weekend was approaching, I accidentally did something that ruined one of those three digits — and it almost ruined my enjoyment of playing. In fact, this happened recently; I was on a house-painting job and had lots of intense work using my thumb and index nail, and before I knew it, the nails had pretty much frayed away. I’ve read about how both James Taylor and Gordon Lightfoot have had similar preoccupations (both of them fingerpick).

Oh no! I feel your pain — I hope you return to your guitar soon. I’ve often considered getting a travel guitar or uke to stave off the withdrawal
Can’t stand fingernails of any length so I just finger-pick with my finger pads… I know, I know

I thought i’d test out this website to see how well it works.
First i started off with a picture of Paul McCartney .
It looks like we’re off to a good shot here, this is pretty good for auto colorization and even as a colorized picture in general.
Then i decided to colorize a still from Clerks, a movie which i feel should’ve been released in color.
As with the previous picture, this is pretty good and i’m getting my hopes up, maybe we can use this website to colorize the whole film.
The next picture i did was another film that i felt should’ve been released in color, Young Frankenstein, the same film that gave birth to the classic rock number Walk This Way.
Sorry but this one kind of sucks, it’s not bad but it’s not good either.
All of those pictures were originally shot in black and white but what about a picture originally taken in color.
Lions and tigers and bears oh my, is that The Wizard Of Oz II: Dorothy’s friends come to Kansas.
Nothing makes me smile more than seeing Citizen Kane colorized.
Here’s a touch up i did afterwards.
This one isn’t that good.
That’s much better. Fun fact, Judy Garland was just 17 when she played Dorothy in The Wizard Of Oz and you know what i mean.
Flying Fists, the second Flip The Frog short was originally released in Two Strip Technicolor but now only survives in black and white so it was the prefect contender for this project.
A lot of these pictures look better once a touch up is done.
This is a pretty solid colorization.
I always thought that Frankenweenie should’ve been released in color. Just kidding, i just love colorizing newer films that were made in black and white for a reason, therefore going against the artist’s original intentions.
That’s what i call an improvement.
I originally tried the scene where Mickey is in the boat but chose to use this one instead, it’s far from perfect but I’ve seen worse.
It’s All Too Much sepia, give or take a few i’ll be writing more in an hour or two.
Not bad but i prefer the computer colorized Looney Tunes shorts from the early 1990’s.
Finally, we have the Windows XP logo and it’s ugly.
But after fixing it up a bit, it looks fine.

I’ve used the website before and I find that it produces mixed results. Sometimes it works better than others. It particularly doesn’t work well with black-and-white photos that are high-contrast.

My school email is like that and it’s super annoying. Every time I log in it texts me a number that I put in instead of a password. Why can’t I just use a consistent password?

Uh, can someone tell me what Dark Overlord has done this time? Cause I (and a few other Biblers who were on his guitar forum) just received a suicide note email from him. I’m pretty dazed and confused.

I’ve phoned the local police department to DO going on the little information available and received, and passed on the situation. Obviously details are very limited on how to find DO’s location but they will do what they can.
I’m not going to go into further details as here is not the time or place. The police have my contact details and if I get any further information I’ll post what I can or pass it on to another mod if I can’t get on the forum.
