Provided the mix is good, it should still provide clarity. Its a matter of balance. Far left/right is a cheats way out of getting good balance.
Mix in mono so you get the right balance first. Then pan, you will lose some volume the further out you go but if you’ve balanced it right, it shouldn’t be a massive job to rebalance. Some people can mix in stereo, I find that I make too many mistakes, although I can generally do the percussion/drums that way.

It’s industry standard. In fact, good studios make use of a specialized mono speaker to avoid mixing mistakes and work from a reasonable frequency spectrum. There are religious arguments over the right monitor headphones (or even the use of headphones), but mono mixing is just the way it’s done, and then stereo/panning afterwards.

Why harpsichord over piano or other keyed instrument like clavichord, Hammond organ, electric piano, mellotron, or synth.
Anyways, you probably know this but my favorite musical instrument is electric guitar, preferably Fender Stratocaster.

In order of practice time put in:
bass
ukulele
synth
guitar
kazoo
this is one reason why I’m getting an electric to refresh my guitar skills, I wasn’t bad at fingerpicking at one stage but it’s been too long and my current steel string guitar is terrible and needs burning/replacing at some point. It’s hard to practice scales on a uke or bass too, you can do the fundamentals but eventually you need to practice what I call the “sprinkles” of music, lead guitar and extended chords. TBH I also need a longer scale keyboard to practice those physical skills more as well, but a polysynth is further back in the list of Things To Get.

I was combing through the vinyl at the Barnes and Noble today, and I realised that the Beatles come first alphabetically as well as in all other senses on my Holy Foursome of bands.
I left the front rack looking like this:
(I’d have done Beatles too, but there wasn’t any on that rack, and besides, that was the only Muse album I could find, after looking through the entire section. Paul’s New is right behind it though )

I’ve noticed that, when very worn-out, Sadie’s strings make my fingertips smell almost exactly like pizza makes my fingertips smell. Martin’s strings don’t smell pizza-y at all, no matter how worn they are… strange
I do love that mildly blech metallic smell one’s fingers acquire from a solid bout of guitaring, as well as the shredded-callous feeling.
Yep, I’m officially insane

You are not insane, my dear @Beatlebug. At least no more or less insane than baseball players (stay with me here). Very often, when a batter fouls off a pitch, you will see him sniffing his bat at the approximate spot where the baseball grazed it.
From what I understand, the smell of the leather hide of the ball glancing off of a wooden bat at 100+ miles per hour is quite intoxicating.
So, if playing Sadie elicits cravings for a large pie with sausage and mushrooms, embrace it.
