I must say that it sure is a slow day here today on the forum. In the 14 hours that I’ve been gone, only 9 new posts were written.
Anyways, i have a question for anybody on this forum who plays electric guitar, preferably ones who play a Fender Stratocaster though, although any electric will do.
What pickup combinations do you guys use, whether it be for Beatles songs or anything in general. I typically use position 5 AKA the bridge pickup on my 2004 lefty MIM sunburst Fender Stratocaster because i like my pickups sounding bright like George’s Fender on Nowhere Man although i do like the sound of positions 1 and 4 as well.

I’ve been working on another Beatles personality quiz, linked here. And I’m getting stuck on what other questions I should ask. I got three questions so far and I wanna have questions that aren’t obvious. So I submit my latest quiz up for review/question suggestion if you want to take it/improve it.
There is a thread for Beatles quizzes but I think it is more for complete quizzes and I think should be more for the final result.
If you can't log in and can't use the forum go here and someone will help you out.

I’d have a look at it to see if I had any suggestions, @Starr Shine?, but it seems you have to take the quiz to actually see it, which I wouldn’t want to do until it’s completed.

@Martha, @sir walter raleigh, @The Hole Got Fixed I apologise for the effect that my withdrawal from @Dark Overlord’s Beatles Trivia Race Off has had. I was enjoying playing with you, but the constant stream of inconsistencies and questions he did not know the correct answer to made it impossible for me to continue. I see no reason why DO could not have, at the least, allowed the current game to play out with three players. I am disappointed at his reaction to my withdrawal, and I humbly apologise to all three of you.

I hope i don’t come off as immature or childish by saying this but you’re a great person @Ron Nasty and i feel that if you feel the game is broken enough where you need to resign then the game’s broken and i’m not going to host a broken game. I’m not saying that i feel the need to agree with you on everything but i feel at blame this time and refuse to go on if you feel the game is bad enough where you refuse to go on yourself.

@sir walter raleigh already knows I will take part in his game when he creates the thread for it, @Dark Overlord, and has asked me to help fact-check it when he needs that assistance. What is the point of asking me a question in a thread that I have said I will not post in again?

I’m currently in the middle of a Beach Boys documentary/concert movie. When that is over i’ll make the board and start the new game.

I use all five positions, of course, depending on what I’m playing. My favourite is the neck pickup, although the bridge pickup has been growing on me lately, especially for distorted harder rock stuff.

Well, doing the maths, the 2014 edition would appear to go back to 1974, @Little Piggy Dragonguy, while the 2017 edition would appear to go back to 1967, the year Rolling Stone was founded.
Admittedly, the maths still don’t quite work out. The 2014 probably contains only solo interviews, from 1970 onwards, but magazines like round numbers and so they didn’t put “44 Years of…”, while the second edition used Rolling Stone‘s whole archive.

So here’s a weird gear tidbit that probably doesn’t fit anywhere, Gibson made a custom SG model for Brian Ray – and he gave one to Angus Young. It’s Angus’s no 3 on tour, he took off the bigsby and put seymour duncans in and his favourite knobs.

Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

I posted a few accents before (mainly Glasgow neds) because 1) They’re oftentimes impossible to understand unless you’re very accustomed to the manner of speaking and 2) Hilarious

I wonder, does backing track mean everything that isn’t done as an overdub or does it mean something else. For example, would the vocals, guitars, drums, and bass be part of the backing track for All My Loving while the piano, bass, and drums from Why Don’t We Do It In The Road not be considered part of the backing track or am i misunderstanding what backing track means.

All My Loving I wouldn’t consider to have a backing track as it was largely recorded live, @Dark Overlord, with just a few overdubs that couldn’t be done live as they were otherwise engaged.
Backing tracks can, and often do, include overdubs. Penny Lane is a good example of a “built-up” backing track, with Paul first working on the piano parts and some percussion elements (take 6), on top of which they built the rest of the song.

ASJ mentioned neds so here is some disgusting ned behaviour followed by some old men being very impolite and sarcastic.
On other matters, I found a “Well Done On Being Born” birthday card. I’m one step closer to finally finding one reading “Congratulations on not being dead”.
