Untalented guitarists have a right to own an expensive guitar, in much the same way kids have a right to eat vegetables.

You’re right, untalented people can own expensive guitars if they want to but i don’t think that an untalented guitarist should sell his or her college funds for one, imagine an untalented guitarist spending all of the money his parents saved up for him to go to college on a 1959 Gibson Les Paul used by Slash.

That’s why i said that stuff in the first place, WeepingAtlasCedars mentioned taking out of a college fund to get a replica of George’s 1968 Rosewood Fender Telecaster used on such songs as Sun King , Two Of Us , Dig A Pony , I’ve Got A Feeling , One After 909 , and much more.

I’m untalented?!? I just thought I wasn’t good at it yet.
In all seriousness, I can’t even play a single chord without fumbling with my fingers and looking at a reference for a good five minutes, and I personally think I should improve using the guitar I have now before I get another one. I do agree that anyone can have whichever guitar they choose, as long as funds (and not the college kind, unless you’re going to a guitar college) permit it. I was joking about the college fund part anyhow (I kinda, um, need that).

A bad cheap guitar when you’re learning is worse than an expensive one. Thick necks, poor pickups, terrible setup are all barriers to learning. You get what you pay for, but you don’t have to go super expensive either. Fender Squiers, the Indonesian-built ones, are fine, just don’t bother with Affinity or Bullet lines. I’ve decided to drop some bucks on a Squier Vintage Modified Tele, probably the Custom because its a little more trebly than the Deluxe which has dual humbuckers. Anything in the VM line is great, the basses are fantastic too.

If you can’t afford one just steal it by shoving it up your skirt.

You’re right, you should probably stick to the guitar that you do have until you can learn a few songs, i could help you if you want it.

Actually, i’m pretty sure she wore a dress, not a skirt due to how big guitars are.

Ahhh, I was thinking it was probably too late to move, @Ahhh Girl. Thanks.
I’ve edited my post to remove the mention of it being in the wrong place.
On another note, I have been playing the weirdest version of PC Monopoly that I downloaded from the web.
It has the London board, but the Community Chest and Chance cards, along with all the trades, refer to (I think) the New York City board. For example, the card that sends you to Mayfair, instead tells you to go to Broadway. Have to check very carefully during trades!

@Dark Overlord
I like her older stuff better, but my favorite album is Red, which is her second to last album. Her last album, 1989 is my least favorite, but it’s still very good. Her only big super pop sellout song on that album was Shake It Off. Most of the other songs are pretty solid, but it lacks that country pop feel of the other 4 albums.

I’ve changed my mind, now I think I want an Epiphone SG 400 Pro. It’s very versatile, sounds great clean and distorted, and good value. The coil-tapping is a must, because I really can’t live without both humbucker and single coil options and I don’t want a stable of guitars.

I’ve now re organized my records, putting all my records on one shelf. There was room on the Beatles shelf for Billy Joel, Eagles, and Taylor Swift, so now they all share the same shelf, though they’re all grouped by artist.

Not once does the diversity seem forced -- the genius of the record is how the vaudevillian "When I'm 64" seems like a logical extension of "Within You Without You" and how it provides a gateway to the chiming guitars of "Lovely Rita. - Stephen T. Erlewine on Sgt Pepper's
