Offline In defense of Dark Overlord, I think that you’re damn funny. I don’t know if it is intentional, but sometimes there is a really unique sense of humor coming across along with sincerity. Other times you sound rude and ignorant.
It does seem like people are often bothered by he content of your posts, but a lot of us are used to it and don’t mind it anymore. You have gotten much better over time. And I was around before HMBeatles fan came along.

That’s another thing. It seems hypocritical when somebody as private as you constantly tries to display how much you know about the actual people on the forum. It isn’t impressive, just a bit weird. You should let people disclose info about themselves, and you about yourself if you feel like it.
On the same topic, you’ve made a list of people you’ve seen, people whos age you know, what country people live in…

Offline For all of the stuff in the pet peeve thread, I just hate a lot of things and I hate how society is nowadays. I’ll be honest, as much as I like you guys, I wish it were 1967 right now because I feel that everything was better back in the day.
As for the mentioning of people’s YOB’s and all of that stuff, it’s just I’ve been obsessed with stuff like that all of my life. I think it’s fun to know someone’s full name, birthday, age, address, social security number, etc. although I guess I could tone down on that stuff if you don’t like me talking about it.
In the case of the instrumentation thing, I love talking about The Beatles and what instruments they used on what song and I think it’s fun to discuss it, it’s probably my favorite thing to talk about, as I like The Beatles for their music, not their personal lives, I didn’t realize that you guys didn’t like that either.
As for you The Hole Got Fixed, I really can’t think of anything, I guess it would be nice if you enjoyed longer songs but I don’t think that counts here.

@Dark Overlord you have turned me on to studying whos playing what instruments. I liked finding out what sounds I’m hearing on Beach Boys songs. For Beatles, I knew some of the standouts like Paul’s drums on Dear Prudence or George’s Telecaster baselining on Two Of Us . But mostly I just assumed that they played their normal instruments. Your posts educated me a lot in that and sparked an interest in instrument models like guitars and keyboards.

Offline TBH, I don’t trust you yet. I am not sure you are who you say you are. That multiple account/personalities thing, along with the unsavory vocabulary and attitudes, has left a really bad taste in my mouth.
As a mod, I wouldn’t do anything to discriminate against you on the forum, but the trust factor as a person just isn’t there. And from “your dad’s” point of view, I am doing the right thing.
Talking about who played what is ok as long as we don’t have another meltdown like the who-sang-the-ahhh fiasco.

Offline Good to know you won’t throw a hissy for over instruments. You’ve just been a little pushy in the past, but I think you know Joe’s stance now on what he will and will not include on the main site pages.
Your dad is the one who always tells you to be careful online…you never know who you are interacting with, etc, be careful about your online history, etc.
This whole conversation could just be a ploy on your part to get attention. Who knows?

Offline I know that Joe may not agree with me on who played what on a certain song and I can live with that, it’s Joe’s site, not mine and he can believe whatever he wants.
This isn’t a ploy to get your attention, I just read Joe’s post and it made me feel a little sad inside so I wanted to see if you guys felt the same way. However, it seems like it did get me some attention and I think getting attention here is fine as long as it’s good and not bad.
